Ok, I don't know if you all read my previous thread, but about a year and a half ago I signed up for XY Magazine. To sum it up: I paid for the magazine, plus some back issues, and have not received anything. I have the confirmation email, saying it would be delivered within 4 weeks. After that 4 weeks, I have been trying to email them, and filling in their "support form" on their website. I tired to dispute the claim with my CC company, but since it had been 60 days, they could not do anything. They have no phone number, and no other way to contact them besides email.

I don't know what to do. I spent about $150, and have not received anything. I know others who are in the same situation. Is this something a class action lawsuit would take care of, or would a small claims court work? You may be saying 'let it go' but I won't. This person is still scamming people. His/her website is still up, as well as their listing on amazon.com. The reviews on amazon show other people have not received anything as well.

What should I do, and are any of you in the same situation? :grrr:

What person did you buy it from, the XY website itself or some third party? I've only ever bought one XY magazine before and that was at a Borders.

I would write a letter to amazon.com and the Better Business Bureau in the state where XY is published.

I have a friend who subscribed several years ago and received only half of the issues he bought. There ere promises from the publisher that more would be on the way, but none ever came.

I agree with you that XY Magazine is a scam.

I have written to the BBB: 19 Unanswered Complaints

I don't think they care anymore.

It might not BE XY not sending you the magazine. It MIGHT be your POST OFFICE refusing to deliver it. The U.S. post office has the discretion to NOT deliver something that they feel is obscene. Playboy/Playgirl might not be seen as bad to them, but XY, a "young gay mens magazine" might be. Check with XY to see if they have record of mailing stuff to you that was possibly returned to sender by the post office. Then (unless you are uncomfortable doing so) go ask your post office about the missing deliveries.

That sounds logical enough.

Do you live in the Ohio stix???

I can see something like that happening in Georgia.

No, I got Out and The Advocate just fine. Why would they not update their website "coming soon" in over a year, or not reply to ANY emails, or ANY BBB complaints? I know it's not the post office.

^ Yeah,Cincinnati is a very weird area that way. We used to joke that somewhere south of Dayton, the Bermuda triangle begins.

I can't imagine that even in self-righteous Cincinnati they'd refuse to deliver your mail, though.

That isn't the case though. Post 12 shows why.

i'm not going to get into all the pro's & con's of the magazine, but i buy mine at a local bookstore so's to avoid any mishaps, though at 1 time i had it coming through the mail it would arrive destroyed/ripped/etc...

If the company doesn't have a phone number or any type of contact for you to let them know your situation then I think they are just taking your money.

I have never been in that kind of situation but I have been through a situation just earlier in the week when I signed up for Broke Straight Boys to just be a member for 3 days. After those 3 days I went to go look at my email and I saw that my card was processed on an unauthorized computer. I kept my calm and I went back onto the website and filled out my member name and password to see if my membership was no longer in use. It took me to the member's entrance and I went to the support center to look at my billing stats. It showed that the billing cycle would end again in June. I was thinking "I never signed up for a month-long membership" and I cancelled my membership with them. So I will never place my credit card over paid sites again unless if I am booking a hotel or something. Scary.

In your case, I would go to a porn shop and buy magazines from there. Otherwise I am just happy for Xtube. Now that's my #1 porn addiction.

Atom, I looked at their recent magazine at Barnes & Noble in Macon recently and it seems from the editor's column that he is retiring from that post and I discerned that the magazine is having financial issues (no pun intended).
