Amazing -- after a two-year absence. Haven't seen it yet, but it is on my list for the weekend! Who has seen it -- no spoilers, please -- although surely everyone who is interested knows the story.

Potter makes $104m on first day

From what I've read, a lot of important stuff has been left out (or skimmed over) while a lot of less important stuff was emphasised. It doesn't really make the movie less enjoyable, but a lot of people are wondering how it will all tie together in the Deathly Hallows since the stuff left out is vital for the ending to make sense.

(Unless, with the finale being a 2-part movie, those things will be introduced there instead.)

Haven't seen it yet, but I will next week. I was pretty bummed when the books came to an end... It's gonna suck when the movies are over too.

Yeah there are parts that I'm not sure how they'll tie it all together.

That being said, it's a movie version of a book that's got too much story for a movie. So just enjoy it.

I thought it was great.

I saw it. I liked it, but wish they had put in the important bits that are vital to the final two movies.

I hope they figure out how to make this all work.

I went to the midnight show Tuesday night, and I thought it was great. It was fun to get caught up in the excitement of going to the midnight showing. The movie was awesome, and I'm definately gonna see it again. :D

i haven't read the books, and I was enjoying the movie for the better part of an hour, but then I started to feel a serious lack of dramatic tension. There was no build up of the mystery of who the Half Blood Prince was, so when there was a reveal at the end, it fell flat. Draco brooding throughout the whole film did NOT suffice as characterization, so he came off more sulky than conflicted. After the BIG event at the end, I could not believe that it was then just over. I asked my buddy if that's how it ended in the book, and he was in shock because he said they had left out something that would have been amazing onscreen. He also said they focused too much on the wrong stories, and we should have gotten far more cool stuff on Valdemort.

I ended up feeling that it was too long, too cute, not tense enough and anti-climactic. It's the first one I was disappointed in.

G-Man, you really should put a spoiler warning on your post, bud. Some people might not know all of those plot points and are here to read more on how the movie is doing, not what happens.

Just a friendly suggestion.

I've been looking forward to his movie for a while. I made the mistake of re-reading the second book before I saw that movie and was disappointed by all that was omitted, so I haven't read them before a film since. It's been years since I read the Half-Blood Prince so I'm sure that alot of what's missing I won't remember anyway.

Ok, so I re-read the book about a month ago (actually listened to the audiobook version but whatever ;) ) and was disappointed by the amt that was left out. I agree that they seemed to focus on the more trivial stuff than the more important aspects of book 6 which were needed to tie into book 7; yeah they got some in there but there were several points in which I wondered if they screen writers had even read the book 7 to know what was important to be able to make a coherent series.

My BF on the other hand hasn't reread the books and he loved the movie... so maybe it does help if you haven't reread the books recently ;)

I saw the movie online today and I was not impressed.

Barely anything happend in the movie and I still don't know who the half blood prince is or was.

5/10
Snape.

You should prob go to the theater.

I finally got to see it. Overall I thought it was ok. It didn't stand out over the others to me. It seemed to be more of a "filler movie", like they were setting the next movie up to be really good. It would have been nice if they had touched more on the Half Blood Prince though. Maybe it's because I read the books and knew what was going to happen, but I didn't feel any suspense or build-up to the Prince or his identity.
