YAY!!! I got a new bicycle...

Nice bike, Swerve. Should keep you fit. make sure you get a good strong lock and chain and use it.

I bought a Rans bike, some years back. It's recumbent, which is to say the pedals are in front of you and you have a back to the seat. It's amazingly comfortable and you can really use your legs to pedal up hills. I'm surprised more bikes don't use this type of design.

They actually sold those at the bike store -- as well as STATIONARY bikes...

For me, it needs to kind of fit inside the cab/sleeper of the truck during days that I'm driving through winter conditions (the chemicals, sand, salt, etc could destroy the gears/chain) -- so it wasn't really practical...

I've never actually KNOW anyone that had a recumbant bike until you mentioned it though...

Do you ride it often??? or just on weekends and holidays...

They look kind of FUNNY  but I agree that they would be EASIER on your body...

I do hope you also purchased a bike helmet..

Yes -- I DID get one...

Actually -- the sales lady wanted me to buy and EXPENSIVE one -- and I asked her...

Does the SAFETY received from the helmet vary based on the price differences of the helmets...

She HONESTLY answered -- NO!!!

ALL HELMETS meet the safety guidelines...

SO -- I BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST ONE!!!

Its kind of DORKY looking -- but, oh well...

The STATE LAW OF GEORGIA (where I live) REQUIRES it...

Congrats! Now be a real man and bike through winter ;-)

Hell WOOFFY -- I AM A REAL MAN!!!

I cannot WAIT for the FIRST REAL BLIZZARD with -50F temperatures -- WHITE OUT CONDITIONS and 60 MPH winds so that I can take a leisurely stroll on the bicycle down to the closest gay bar...

LOL, it does get attention!

The winds can be a real problem, particularly wind gusts. Cold is seldom a problem - other than face and extremities. If anything the tendency is to dress too warmly.

I can't say enough about studded winter tired, though. Its great to have full control on icy roads, while the motorists are skidding like mad :p

Yo Ted...

Are you keeping the bike in the sleeper? That's gotta be real tight in there.

Until I got sick and tired of the constant flat tires and just chucked the bike beside a road in Virginia,I used to keep a bike on the truck for a while too.I would keep it in the back of the truck,on the back deck.

Maybe you might be able to mount it high up up on the same rail that the air lines are mounted to..It'd be even better if the bike were BEHIND the air lines..That way,it doesn't interfere with them at all..You don't want them coming off the next time you're driving in an ice storm in Wyoming..

Whoa Ted ,you're so Butch..LOL..

Be careful with the riding while blind thing..In most places, even riding a bicycle with a buzz on will get you popped for a DUI..

No operating ANY vehicle while your drunk Ted..(wags fiinger.)
