I remember I used the "bi card" as a stepping stone with my parents to coming out. It gave me the excuse to transition over to men full time. :)

Piggy, I was going to post a congratulatory message on coming out but even more than that, I want to give you kudos for having your head on straight. This message is probably one of the best things I've ever seen posted on a message board. You're right. We're all on the same team.

You know, a lot of gay people discount bisexuals because a lot of us have gone through that phase where we used bisexuality as a stepping stone to coming out. Then we assume that because we did it, everyone who identifies as bi is also doing it. And that's just not true.

Congratulations Piggy, we're all so proud of you. Do yourself a favor. Let this thread go for a little while longer and when it's about to drop off the front page, print it out and put it in a safe place, like a scrap book or a photo album, or just in a place where it won't be disturbed. Then, years from now if you're having a bad day or feel you need to hear a kind word, you can read this and see all the support you've had in coming out. :kiss:

You know Piggy it has really made my day to read this. I remember when you first turned up, when you were exploding in every direction, pissing people off etc. Since then you have calmed down and become a mainstay in Jub. It never really mattered whether you were Gay or Bi to me, you were a person. I was hard on you, not in a good way :) but you have participated and added so much to the site that I think we owe you a debt of gratitude.

I am so glad that you have have managed to come out to yourself or whatever it is. But the main thing is that you are now happy with who you are.

I agree with Trawler. Its been wonderful to watch you develop here on JUB. You've come a long way in a short time.

I think your family will take the news well. They probably see Bi and Gay as the same thing anyhow. Take your time and tell them when you see fit and feel ready.
