Some people have asked why I dropped out of sight for so long. I guess I didn't tell anyone in CE & P, though I mentioned it in a couple of other forums.

I went camping. I spent a lot of time indulging my naturist streak/convictions.

I met a variety of people who thought it was great, from bikers in leather to a chick dressed in what looked like bandannas knotted together to a very clean-looking middle class family. I also had a run-in with some bigots... to whom the mother of that middle-class family suggested that the dad's smoking and drinking in front of his kids was a far worse example to them than public nudity.

If not for the bigots, I would call it a superb camping trip. Okay, the forest fire over the ridge that made the whole place smell of green wood smoke was annoying (hard to sleep, for one thing), but the wind shifted after a couple of days.

And for anyone who follows my story writing in the stories forum, I started an entirely new one -- though it doesn't have much to do with being gay; it's actually pure sci-fi (though that's not obvious at the start).

And after being gone for two weeks, I see that I really didn't miss much in the news.

WELCOME BACK!

So, was this nude camping?

Welcome back Kuli. I saw you were gone but I was away for a while also.

Anyone else in your sleeping bag besides you? C'mon.... tell. ;)

Kuli, I couldn't find your new story! Could you link it?

I hope this means you're not giving up on Fit For Life (says the hypocrite who has abandoned TWO stories unfinished in that selfsame forum).

Welcome back Kuli. But I already knew that! It's good to know the details tho.
**going away to find stories)**

did not notice you were gone as i was sorta MIA for a bit - traveling as well but not as much fun as camping

last time i camped I was going to the bathroom on a hill - yes

dropped the roll of toilet paper and proceeded to chase it down the hill with my boxers around my ankles

can't make this shit up

needless to say camping is not .......... ME ;)

welcome back

Its great to see you back...

Sorry -- haven't posted it. I was thinking of finding a place where there are more sci-fi fans, since it isn't really gay-related.

Give up Fit for Life?!!

Not for a thousand bucks.

COOL!!! ..|

And being the MASTER of TRIVIA that you are -- you PROBABLY know that U.S. 20 is the LONGEST ROAD in the COUNTRY (from Boston, MA to Newport, OR)!!! :D

And -- I forget whether it is U.S. 20 or OR 126 that has the longest DOWNGRADE in the country -- I DO remember that I drove through Sisters, OR (westbound) prior to coming down the 30 some MILE HILL. Not fun in a heavy truck!!!

Glad you had such a GREAT TIME!!!

:):):)

Yellowbottom Recreation Site and Dogwood Recreation Site, both situated along the Middle Santiam River, not far from Green Peter Lake, all of which lie in the Cascade Range between Mt. Hood National Forest and Williamette National Forest, in the state of Oregon.

How did I do? :D

I once thought about biking US 20 -- I knew some guys on the OSU bike team who pedaled it from Corvallis to Bend one day because it struck them as entertaining....

Is that hill really 30 miles? I've done it in neutral -- wonder how much gas I saved? Wouldn't do it in a trailer, though!
