Yorkshire Micro-Meet - 21 March 2011

Thought I'd place on record that a small, impromptu JUB gathering took place in York today. Those present:

ChickenGuy was en route from somewhere remote and celtic north of the border to his summer residence in Brighton and broke his journey in York. He's a JUB veteran, having attended the Minneapolis bash last year. I'd never (at least not knowingly) met another Jubber in the flesh.

No stone was left unturned. CG dished the dirt on all of you.

Yes indeed! I finally met the man himself!

unloadonme was a perfect gentleman. He chauffered me into town from my lodging place, treated me at an Italian restaurant, paid the bill, and gave me a quick night-time tour of central York.

Sounds very romantic when I describe it like that.

Anyway, I've arrived safely at my summer residence now. Settling back in.

Thankyou for a very enjoyable evening, old chap.

Oh my, so close, yet...

I love York, it's so quaint. The Minster is lovely in sunlight shining through the Rose Window. Last time I was there years ago with my sis, we went with friends to see the stinky Jorvik Centre, as well as climb up to the Castle (grim history up there) and a whole afternoon on the wall, the Railway Museum and in the evening they did this Viking boat thing. And, the bookshops. Before Amazon, York was my book haven.
