It is noticeable on this forum that Richard Dawkins, and his gospel are referenced by his disciples, much more often than Jesus, Abraham, or The Buddha....

Kallipolis, even if your position that atheists worship Dawkins as some type of "guru" were true, this would have no relevance to the arguments or positions being expressed by atheists or Dawkins. Even if all atheists were just sheep repeating everything Dawkins said, this wouldn't invalidate that position in the slightest.

Your inability to actually defend your position or directly address the arguments being put forth shows that you have no argument and are not able to discuss issues like this in a coherent or rational manner.

At this point, Kalli has lost all argumentative credibility. His actions seem only to attempt to get a rise out of others, instead of actually engaging in a worthwhile conversation. Now it is probably best to just ignore him. Every time you tell him you are not a dawkins disciple, he's just going to respond with the same kind of fallacious nonsense about how you are. He has no other argumentative recourse, he has no rational points, he only has these ad-hominem attacks and strawman lies. He has done more than enough to demonstrate he isn't a reasonable individual with which to engage in any sort of discussion. Watch the video that started this discussion. You know, the one you posted. It shows Dawkins at his worst.

I've seen the video on the Dawkins-Williams before (I didn't know this was the discussion we were talking about); it is one of Dawkins' best. The two don't even bother with discussing the deal-breakers, and take on the better questions. I'd like to see them meet up again. It'd be worth watching.

The initial video isn't even close to Dawkins at his worst; it's closer to typical for him. But even typical is pretty arrogant.

What is indisputable is Richard Dawkins' position on God, is not as transparently atheist as once it was...and that scares not a few of his disciples, knowing that their Guru is walking on shifting sands...time will tell....

I'd say that Dawkins' disciples are merely deluded.....even, angry that their messiah is today, less of the atheist he was several years ago....possibly, evidencing Professor Dawkins' growing awareness that his evangelical devotion to atheist practices has waned.... ..while appreciating that Richard Dawkins' understandings are maturing...by adopting an agnostic position...worthy of the man who knows, that he has much learn...don't we all...

Well, since Dawkins' own response to people he disagrees with is to call them deluded, then it's perfectly fair to call him deluded, or his disciples.

But if they think he's less of an atheist, they really are deluded, because by his own words in the 'debate' with WIlliams, he's more of an atheist now than he was a few years ago.

On other forums I've observed people who can qualify as disciples by this standard, but for anyone on JUB that is really stretching.

That's actually Dawkins being fairly reasonable. Haggard was the asshole there -- though only at the end, when he came out and told them to get off the property.

Of course his theology drove him to that: if not he, then most of his "flock" would believe that allowing Dawkins on the property was somehow making the place unclean, despite the fact that such a position is 100% contrary to what Jesus is shown as in the Gospels. And that's my real issue with Haggard and his ilk: they do not understand the One they claim to follow.
