And you are allowed just the cure for one disease only. Which disease would you like to cure and why?
 
Being straight?

But seriously : diabetes. Too much stuff that diabetes affects, eyes, nerves, water works, blood pressure...... It would be marvellous if piff paff puff, the disease no longer existed.
 
Cancer. So no one else would have to die slowly like my mom.
 
I can't just pick "One" disease .... I'd have to cure Diabetes , as iI have it and it contributed to the death of my mom and grandmother as well as other family members .
I'd also have to try to cure Cancer, Aids, and Alzheimers .... have seen people die from those and it tears my heart out not being able to help do anything to save their lives ..
 
I know this will sound stupid but I have a good reason:

I'd cure the comon cold.

Because by doing so mankind will finally have been able to defeat a virus. Therefore with the cold bing a "gateway", every other virus would eventually fall as well. Curing a virus would be such a breakthrough the world has never seen.

My second choice is cancer. Just because it affects so many people who really did nothing to bring it on.
 
Cancer. Watching people go through chemo and radiation then slowly die before your eyes is one of the worst things you can witness.
 
I like Tea-Drinker's malaria option, because that is my line of work. But I think I'd cure cancer, were I given the choice.

HIV is preventable in most cases, so I'd definitely focus my attentions elsewhere.
