"You Look Like Prince"

Just got back from the DMV and a gregarious woman standing behind me said, "Excuse me, but you know who you look like from the side, Prince."

As if waiting in line at the DMV wasn't bad enough she tells me I have a resemblance to Prince. :eek: Back in high school some two (closeted) guys would sing "You Don't Have to be Rich" when they passed me in the hall. That stayed with me for a couple years and I don't know if this lady was complimenting me or not.

I've never understood the compulsion to tell people that they look like someone famous. Especially since half the time they tell you that you look like someone you think is hideous. The last person I was compared to in this manner was Rainn Wilson... he didn't actually know the name, he said "that guy with the glasses on The Office." Who I had to look up online before I knew who we were talking about, since I never watch that show.

I happen to think Rainn Wilson is one of the most repulsive creatures in existence.

Although in some pictures, I do see a resemblance, I don't want to look like anybody else. I look like me.

I'm usually not a fan of people telling others who they look like either, unless that person is good looking. I wanted to tell her she looked like Berta from Two and Half Men

Though, my mother and other family members tell me I look like Asthon Kutcher so maybe that evens things out.
 
People in the past (past being 25 years ago) I've been told I look like

Andy McCluskey from OMD

Paul Heaton from Beautiful South

Jimmy White Snooker player.

One I could see the others not.
 
You should have yelled "my name is Prince! And I am funky!" back to her. But I doubt shw would've gotten it.

I guess I'm weird - I absolutely LOVE getting told I resemble/look like celebrities! I most commonly get Enrique Iglesias (regularly), Teddy John (model from the MTV reality show circa 2005ish 8th and Ocean [VERY often]), Adam Lambert (regularly), and Pete Wentz (seldomly).

And goodness, I'd be crazy to get tiffed about any of them! ;) I'll take it! :D
 
My first day of high school, the kid who sat next to me in homeroom looked at me and told me that I looked like Mr Bean. He then turned to the girl in front of him and asked her if she thought I looked like Mr Bean. Then I saw him in the cafeteria, where he told all his friends that I looked like Mr Bean.

Guess what my least favorite high school nickname was?

And then a few weeks ago a friend informed me that someone in my department refers to me as "that guy in comp lit who looks like Kevin Smith." *sigh*

I wonder what he's gonna start calling me now that I've gotten my hair cut...
 
I also need to mention that being compared to Prince for me would be a HUGE compliment! He's an icon! And his charisma and essence and appeal is very attractive! :D


. . . Mr. Bean? Not really so much, but I'm sure he meant it in such a sweet way!
 
What's wrong with that? Prince was one of the prettiest men alive.

Well she did say "From the side"....Prince is still Gorgeous @ 50-something....After all these years you are still tickled to death when people tell you that....

Now you know we're not going to let you get-off that easily.....You're gonna have to post a Pic of your face or we'll have to write this thread off as "Wishful Thinking"...Because ANYBODY can make a thread saying people CLAIM they look like a Celebrity and in reality THEY DO NOT....:cool:...

Do you really resemble Prince or do you look more like that Brown Paper bag you said you put over your head?
