It's called beer; here's the recipe:

Open bottle
Pour into glass (or drink straight from bottle).

None of your mixtures for me!

For me it is just a Crown & Coke.

One part Crown Royal.
Six parts Coke.

I don't do strong drinks anymore.

For someone who wants a cocktail but a (mostly) virgin one, I give them the Purple Lemonade.

Over cracked ice in a tall glass:
A shot of lime juice for zing
Fill with lemonade
A teaspoon Blue Curacao (I did say mostly virgin)
A splash of grenadine (red syrup; non-alcoholic)
Stir, then garnish with maraschino cherry/ies, slice of lime, or silly cocktail umbrella.

Alternatively, if you want to do it as a Sunset in a tall glass:
Very little ice (2 cubes)
Shot of lime
Fill with 1/3 pineapple juice (or simple lemon syrup, if you prefer it sharp rather than sweet), then top up with lemonade
Teaspoon of blue curacao, then stir.

Drop the splash of grenadine through the center so it splashes at the bottom. You'll get red at the bottom of the glass, fading through purple and into blue halfway up. Do not stir again or you lose the effect.

One time, back in my crazy college days, I split a wine cooler with a friend of mine....

As you can imagine, we were flying pretty high for a couple of days.

I like electric lemonade.

In a big cup
2 Shots Raspberry Vodka
1 Shot Blue Curacao
Rest Lemonade

I wish I was that inventive. And I will be trying some of these elaborate recipes.

I just do rum & coke because that what my headbanging buddy used to drink at concerts. Drop a sour Lifesaver's Gummi in there and i'm good to go.

I am famous for my Hawaiian Mai Tais:

1 oz. Coruba Rum
1 oz. Rhum St. James (amber)
1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 oz. Trader Vic's Orgeat Syrup
1/3 oz. DeKuyper or Bols Orange Curaçao
1/4 oz. Simple Syrup (sugar syrup)
2 oz. Pineapple Juice

Shake with ice and pour into a Mai Tai tumbler and garnish with a sprig of mint and a maraschino cherry if you like

I'm drinking one right now. Tanqueray and Tonic.

Death in the Afternoon

A shot of absinthe and then fill the rest of the champagne flute up with champagne.

Ooooooooooooh exotic!

I'm drinking a really young, really cheap, really unpleasant merlot*.

Salut!

*No, seriously

Is it Carlo?

My BF still doesn't like the fact that I have a bottle of Yellowtail merlot whenever we have Italian night at home.

I've been drinking John Collinses (Whiskey Collins) lately:

2 oz Whiskey
1 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 oz Simple Syrup

Pour over ice and top with soda. Add an orange twist and cherry (optional).

Note: I never measure when making these for myself and tend to like them stronger than this recipe.

No, we don't get Carlo here in .za. Where is it from - local or import on your side?

Mine is a Douglas Green 2010, from Paarl just up the road from me in our winelands. It needs a while still in the bottle, I think - very harsh, and not even a whiff of chocolate about it.

I gave up on mixed drinks sometime this past decade, I think it was when I lost my sense of humor.

Anyway, I see people raging about the buttery nipple though.

1 oz DeKuyper® Buttershots liqueur
1/2 oz Irish cream

Pour buttershots into a chilled shot glass. Carefully layer or float the irish cream on top, and serve.

The WORST cocktail I ever created?

Glass of beer
Shot of Baileys Irish Cream

Pour Baileys gently into beer. It should float in a curdled lump on top.

We named our creation The Floating Turd.

In Australia, that's called a Cocksucking Cowboy, or Cowboy for short.

They're lethal if you have more than 3
