Your Death

Funny you should ask. I am right in the middle of planning my wife's and my funeral.

When asked, people in palliative care, people who are near the end of their lives, are open about their lives. When faced with mortality, you grow the most as a person. Everyone experiences a host of emotions when faced with the end, and everyone has a regret or two. Here are the five most common:

^When conversing with patients undergoing palliative care, i have found that regret for things left undone, foremost in their minds.

^ Before my lover died, I thought "palliative care" was the same as the Dutch "mantelzorg" ("zorg" means "care" and "mantel" and "palla" -of which palliative is derived- both mean "cloak").

Because I am in the vocation, I have started my arrangements (vault, casket and opening/closing of the grave). I have the property...it's with my grandparents who bought graves in 1953.

Good Lord, what a price. I suppose that being in such a public spot might be desirable for some. It would be interesting to know how long it takes for this sale to happen.
