Gay or str8 i would never get married, but if I were to
it would be by the justice of peace or whatever it's called when you walk in and get the legal papers. No church BS or reception.

The only thing I know I want at my wedding is lemon cake and to fly away in a hot air balloon. The rest my fiance could decide, as long as everything's in reason.

Turnie - LOVE the sound of harps! Thanks for posting.

My dream wedding was evaporated many many years ago during the school years. Just being realistic really.

The best i can hope for is a good partner with no wedding.

Very traditional, with all the trappings. If I were into cross dressing, I would do the expensive dress too ;)

high diving boards
ans swimspool full ofs da cream ans maybe fruit but not deicde a yet

ans then fa after

no lookin

;)

I'm not sure if I want to get married, but if I do, I imagine it would be pretty traditional, apart from the whole "two guys getting married" part. =P

As I write this, I am in Haiti. One of my Haitian friends invited me to be Paren or Godfather (same as Best Man in US) at his wedding two weeks ago. This is the only time I've been best man - or this close to the altar at a wedding in fact.

I was impressed with the ceremony and the reception and of course the fabulous food!

If I were to be married (HIGHLY UNLIKELY) I think I'd go for a traditional ceremony like this one, or maybe one from some other interesting culture. I find the "traditional" wedding in the US to be too much pomp, and senseless expense.

Of course, a simple "I do" is sufficient for me. Remember Joni Mitchell's song "My Old Man"?

It would be a summertime wedding in our yard. It would be big with a few hundred guests. Our sons would be our best men and IF we walked down the aisle, it would be together, hand in hand, but more likely we would enter from different sides in the front, meeting up before the minister. A string quartet would play for the guests before the ceremony and during dinner and there would be live music for dancing after dinner. The trees would be strung with lights, the champagne would flow, there would be fireworks at 10 pm.

We did the private ceremony, just Tomas and me and God in Greece when we were 21, so this would be a big celebration of our love.

Just him and I.

Nothing else would matter, unless it mattered to him.

So this is something I rarely hear guys (gay or straight) talk about.

What's your dream wedding? If you were to marry, what's your dream setting or ceremony? What do you picture yourself wearing? Who will be there (will there be a best man/maid of honor)? Would you be modeling it after the traditional heterosexual weddings which you're accustomed to? How big or small will it be? Any other details you wish to share... ?

Have you pictured yourself walking down the aisle?

Ha ha you asked so many questions that I had to quote you so I remembered them all lol.

Hmm I really don't have an ideal setting or ceremony, but I kind of want to wear the traditional Sikh wedding attire, despite not being religious at all. And it seems like I'm the only one who wants it to be a huge spectacle lol. At Indian weddings you usually invite everyone who's related to you, from your village, who you know, and relatives of relatives lol. But I'd definitely want my parents, sister, friends, uncles/aunts, first cousins, and the extended relatives who I know. Even friends of the family. And this is considered small for an Indian wedding lol. And of course whoever he wants to invite.

One thing for sure I want is like the week long party that comes with Indian weddings and an Indian style reception. And the only thing I care about is music! The DJ has to play the music we want or I'll fire his or her ass and just DJ the whole thing myself. Dance music for the win! That's all I can think of really. Oh and I think it would be awesome for a drag queen to MC! And maybe just pretend it's Pride week and hit up every gay club, bar, in the city we live in for our Bachelor party lol.

My Dream Guy And I.

I would love it if the family and friends we loved would attend as well. Family is important to me, as is friendship, so to have all the support would mean a lot to me.

That's about it. We could get married in a public restroom for all I care.

justkidding.

Mine will be on the 747 flying across to Europe. After the 10 minute ceremony saying "I do" & champaign toast (for everyone on the plane to know that we're married), we'll hit the bathroom to join the mile high club. Most passengers would totally understand since we're newly wed...I think.

I'm not really a 'gathering' kind of guy. I don't like weddings at all. I've been to a few and I found them too costly for what they're worth, especially with today's divorce rate...

I'd rather just exchange rings (platinum please!), have a civil ceremony, go on a kick ass honeymoon and call it a marriage!

Well...since we're getting married on Friday....

We first looked to have a more traditional wedding and reception but as we added and added, the price quickly approached $10,000. We talked and figured that we wanted to enjoy the day and time after and we could better do it with our money than enriching wedding planners, etc.

We scaled back and will have an intimate wedding ceremony with only family and very close friends on a rooftop that overlooks the capitol and Washington Mall at sunset. Our officiant is a priest who is on leave and good friend (he's marrying his partner in July so I'm not sure he'll then be on leave!) Our roommate, who is a professional photographer, will be taking the photos (and I'll post one on JUB). A friend of ours is having dinner prepared at Founding Farmers and we'll take all of the guests there in limos. From dinner we're going out to a couple clubs dancing and spend the evening/next day with family. My daughter will be my "best person" and Barry's brother will be his. My son, unfortunately, is on maneuvers in Europe. We are making arrangements through our friend who is manager of a local club to have an open bar and "reception" later. We will probably have 200 or 300 people attend and won't have to worry about cleaning!

We're taking our money and spending a few days in Monticello and then going on a Mediterranean Cruise in the fall when my son and his wife will be back in Germany. We're going to spend about 2 weeks total on the cruise and traveling through Europe.

^^^I dunno --- it sounds just about .....perfect. Congrats!
