Your favourite anime?

Definitely Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. A pretty wrecked up anime just suitable for me :D

The others: Elfen Lied (damn was that a sweet anime!), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series (again,), RahXephon, Galaxy Angel, NHK ni Youkoso!, Nodame Cantabile (for classical music lovers :luv:), Haibane Renmei, TEXHNOLYZE (steampunk! steampunk! :D), and the last but not least, Trigun!!!

Trigun
Hellsing
Gungrave
Cowboy Bebop
Lupin III
Full Metal Alchemist
Outlaw Star
Ninja Scroll
Samurai Champloo
Tenchi Muyo
Berserk
Speed Grapher
.hack

My favourite one is The Slayers. Action and comedy all in one package, and sometimes it gets serious. Here's just a little short clip of the main character (Lina) and one of her spells.

Azumanga Daioh, Cowboy Bebop, Slayers, Sailormoon, Read or Die/ROD the TV.

Kind of got out of anime at a point where I felt anime and anime-culture was sloping down the road to Pedo-land at full speed. But I still like some of the older series I have seen.

My favorite is still Ghost in the shell.

Then there's Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Armitage, Macross, Inuyasha, Samurai Jack... and a ton of others.

There are just so many that I like or love.

But Cowboy Bebop tops the list for me. I love so many songs from the soundtrack.

Tenchi Muyo! brings back so many memories. I love so many songs from the soundtrack.

I've only watched the first half-hour or so of You Are (Not) Alone, but so far, I'm ambivalent about it. It's VERY true to the original from what I've seen so far, and I like that, but I'm looking forward to seeing if they've done anything different.

you are (not) alone is basically the first few episodes, but with some slight differences along with one major difference. you can (not) advance is where rebuild completely diverges from the original series, but i love it. rebuild really is it's own animal. i don't wanna ruin anything for you though, so the less i say about the differences the better.

It looked pretty shonen-y on the surface so I almost didn't give it a chance, but Eva, hands down.

i can't get over how much i love gurren-lagann. one of the best pieces of works ever created; amazing animation, well developed characters, amazingly crafted story telling, perfect balance of laughter and tears, and inspirational backwards and forwards. what more can anyone ask for in a series?

Yeah digimon counts.

Bleach and K-ON! K-ON! is a Japanese series anime. My sister has an Asian friend and he got me hooked on all this anime.

My favorite anime is Paranoia Agent. It's a real mindfucker of a series. My 2nd fav is Case Closed.

i loved paranoia agent too. one thing about paranoia agent that you should know (that allows you to understand and appreciate the series better) is that it's essentially the anime embodiment of superflat, a postmodern art movement. superflat satirizes the sexualization of anime (which more times than none uses little girls as subjects), the japanese cultural obsession with cuteness, the otaku subculture, and consumerism. in a nutshell, it's a social commentary on japan's post-war state. which is why the imagery of mushroom clouds was featured so much in paranoia agent. in fact the design of maromi is directly based off a mushroom cloud.
superflat was started by japanese artist takashi murakami, who was heavily inspired by hideaki anno of neon genesis evangelion fame.

sorry 'bout the huge nerd rant :D.
