platitudes i really hate:

you can get it if you really want
everything happens for a reason
its gods will
we are all here to learn
karma will pay him back

i only care for inner beauty

platitudes i let myself believe, cuz me need hugz too sometimes:

everythings gonna be ok
its gonna work out in the end somehow
theres nothing to be afraid of

It is what it is.

I dislike intensely the old adage "no one can make you feel bad about yourself without your permission", because I see it as the worst conceivable example of "blaming the victim".

On the contrary this adage invites us to move on with our life and not become anchored into the past when immersing our self in acrimonious disputes.

This adage broadens our understandings:

What we give our attention to – stays with us What we let go of – will let go of us.

We do not see things as they are; we see them as we are.

We process our experiences, and understandings through our eyes, allocating them meaning grown out of our life's experiences.

The positive thinker learns that all of life's experiences are life affirming, even constructive when on the receiving end of platitudes formulated to abuse and insult.

Kallipolis, it both encourages and enables bullying.

Tyler Clementi jumped off the bridge for a reason.

The overwhelming majority of people do not jump to their death when becoming the object of abuse. Most of us learn something worthwhile from the abusive actions of ill intentioned people.

Abusive behaviour should always be rejected for its inhumane treatment of our fellow man, rather like murder should be eliminated from the face of the earth - yet, human life has a habit of revealing the best, and the worst that the human condition is capable of being.

you can get it if you really want
But, you can only get it if you think you can, if you think you cant, then you wont get it, and that goes for getting this too

everything happens for a reason
Yes it does, it is called motive.

its gods will
Whose god, yours or mine?

we are all here to learn
Sure we are, I agree with that.

karma will pay him back
Oh yes, definitely. I love watching it in action.

i only care for inner beauty
Really, who is kidding who?

platitudes i let myself believe, cuz me need hugz too sometimes:

everythings gonna be ok
Sure it is, if you make it that way.

its gonna work out in the end somehow
Only cos you want it to.

theres nothing to be afraid of
Refer to the god's will one above.

I actually agree somewhat with 'everything happens for a reason'

Many of the great things that have happened to me have spurred from bad events.

However I really dislike;
*It will all be OK.
*(insert any faith based phrases)

^All will be well - when we make it so.

In other words our choices, and actions create our life despite recognising that there are influences, beyond our control that will impact upon our choices.

As I have already stated, Johann the ideal is for human kind to create a Utopia, meantime we learn to cope with the best, and the worst of the human condition including wars, murder, rape and yes, even verbal abuse.

As you may well have understood from the religion forum I am not an advocate on behalf of New Age philosophy.

Here's one. "Take what you like and leave the rest."

We're all different and so what sayings might have meaning and purpose for me might make you laugh, cry or get you pissed off.

If life was a one size deal where we were all the same, there'd be one style for homes, cars, shoes, etc, one favorite color, one hairstyle, one "my type."

We are all part of the puzzle and no two pieces are the same.

^That's it.

The jig saw that is life is constructed out of the individual nature of the human person, whereby the pieces appear to be misfits until the jig saw is complete, when everything fits into place to reveal the purpose of the various colours, sizes and shapes that defy understanding when viewed individually.

It is said that the patterns, and colours of life are configured to speak to our individualistic nature, thereby permitting human life to fulfil its purpose when revealing our birth right to fit into the puzzle by just being our self.

Our success in any endeavour encourages us to try, and try again to succeed.

The experience that we accumulate when attempting to attain our objective rewards us with the will to keep on trying.

Six times we fall, seven times we rise.

The first step toward change is awareness.
The second step is acceptance
. ~Nathaniel Branden

This advice is specially tailored for those who remain self incarcerated in their cell of fear preferring to be all that they are not meantime, life is inviting them to be all that they can become by being true to their real self.

The most terrifying thing
is to accept oneself completely
. ~Carl Jung

Oh, Kalli^, brain scientists have identified the center of fear as the amygdala. No amount of therapy or self-acceptance can overcome a damaged amygdala.
