Your first ever Ebay sale

Actually, I think they DO have an 'adult' section/area ?!? I think you have to show some kind of proof of age to access it.

I'm pretty sure it was a book I had. My aunt gave me an original edition, so I sold the reprint.

I've never bought or sold anything on Ebay, but won't you have to pay postage and a commission out of your £3.80?

And a Eurovision CD? Not sure I'd own up to owning one of those. ;)

I sold some used college texts on eBay. I sold them at a significant loss, but it was still better than nothing.

The fees for selling on ebay for small time sellers are no good anymore.
One fee after another, I believe its around 15% average and then pay-pal gets a cut, you almost have to use pay-pal. I believe they get about 3% plus transaction fees.
Then the hassle of shipping, only to have the customer complain or try and rip you off and your account gets frozen most likely the customer gets the money back.
Used to be a cool operation for small sellers but now they want to compete with Amazon and cater to big stores/retailers/dealers.
Fuck a bunch of selling on e-bay anymore for most things.

I got $10-and-change for a listing of the Top 50 songs from a week in 1959, which was printed up by Radio Station WNDR in Syracuse, New York.

I **DARE** anybody else to have an item more esoteric, strange, and "exotically niche" than that, especially as your first-ever ebay item as called for here.

And yes as M10000 points out, if you want something so incredibly much that you bid $1,000 on it...and it's listed for $9.99 and only one other person bid the minimum amount and that's it, you don't pay $1,000 for it, but you pay $10.49 or whatever $9.99 plus the bid increment is - plus shipping, of course. I don't bid often on ebay, but I almost always win everything that I bid on, because I bid the absolute maximum that I'll pay, and I arrange it as a proxy bid so it never shows up until the final few seconds, which is too late for somebody to MANUALLY overbid me.

My bids are usually much higher than it's likely to go for, because I'm serious about what I want, and once in a while I do have to pay near my top bid, but usually it's much less and that makes up for it.

If you bid FAR over the second bid, such as $400 versus $27, nobody ever knows how much you were willing to pay, only that you won it.
