Your most common garden birds?

Blue jays, cardinals and starlings. We've had a juvenile red tail hawk showing up lately. It sits on the garden fountain, I think it's trying to get my goldfish.

ugly ducks, not native luckily they get hit by cars or taken out by alligators because they are very slow & stupid, shit on my garage roof too.
parrots of some sort that make a hell of a lot of noise, are green and live in groups I have been told they are called mock parrots, you know when they land in your yard.

,,, and fairly common Bald Eagle. I see them a few times a week and sometimes they are in the yard as these little starlings or something such as that dive bombs them but they pay no attention the little birds don't take any shit from them or any big bird of prey

only in late winter do I see robins.
Very rare to see any hummingbird
but I do see the beautiful rare big white pelicans that come down from the Midwest in late Dec. They just started coming a couple years ago after being gone for nearly 26 yrs I am told.
Lots of big or strange looking water birds I haven't a clue what they are

Funny, we were talking about the number of morning doves we get last night. Also remarking what stupid birds they are..........................LOL. They just sit there with ths same vacant look on there face

^ There are so many in Brisbane... they're everywhere. Friendly, unintrusive and quite unique to look at.

I see mostly house finches:

house sparrows

western scrub jays

anna's humming bird

and a few morning doves
we also have some eurasian collard doves that have expanded into sacramento area in the last couple years (damn introduced species! )

I think it is interesting to see the different pictures of canadian vs. australian magpies - they are recognisable, but they still look completely foreign to each other. Same with the jays from alberta to california.

In this part of the UK now the common House Sparrow has almost disappeared from gardens! However the Collared Dove which was a relatively rare visitor from mainland Europe not so many years ago is now a very common garden bird . The pic shows why. It is an opportunist!

Loads of hummingbirds. I grow a lot of heliconia (which they love) and other tropicals. And they pretty much drive away all the other birds.

No one really knows. One theory is present day farming practices with no grain or weed seed left in fields or loss of nesting sites in new housing developments. But London parks used to be full of sparrows a legacy of all the horses in London streets. But the horses disappeared many years ago and the sparrows remained until relatively recently.
Some blame traffic fumes since they have mainly disappeared from our town gardens where they used to be most populated. Carbon emissions? Even the experts do not seem to know !
The big increase is pigeons and magpies! (No gamekeepers to kill them)

they all came to the US. lol the European sparrows was introduced to the US in 1851/52 and is now wide spread throughout north america. we call them "english sparrows." we also have american sparrows. we have them in the millions here. cities/country you name it they are there.
