Christmas is just around the corner and like most everyone, I start listening to all Christmas songs from old to new. So what song(s) do you like to listen around Christmas time? Time to make this forum jolly once again :)

It's not a classic but for some reason I like to sing along to this song every Christmas

over the last few years this has become a huge favorite of mine-

the vid can't be embedded so double click it.

Can't choose between these four ...

When a Child Is Born

Silent Night

Oh Holy Night

So This is Christmas

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

I sing or hum it all year long.
Our choir sang a wonderfully arranged version of this at our Christmas concert a couple of weeks ago .. it was so much fun! ..|

Some of my favs (and I particularly like these performances/arrangements:

Actually, I really love the Celtic Woman "A Christmas Celebration" CD/DVD.

'Angels We Have Heard on High' is one of my favorites.

Years ago when I was in the Church Choir we were pretty good (about half the members were actually Professionals), and one of the Sopranos did this amazing descant (maybe not the right term) above the whole choir...Wow.

Also love Silent Night, performed the original way...in German with just a guitar accompaniment.

One I heard just yesterday was pretty cool, too. Carol of the Bells sung in the original Ukrainian by a New York City Chamber Chorus on A Prairie Home Companion. Very very neat.

(On another note, since I'm subjected to the incessant strains of pop stars with bad renditions of carols all day, if I hear the Jackson 5's version of I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus one more time, my head will explode...)

Darlene Love's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). Here's one of her annual appearances with David Letterman.

This one is TOTALLY appropriate for JUB, but not for church...

The Dandy Warhols doing a cover of The Little Drummer Boy, featuring a dude dancing around in nothing but skimpy white women's panties! :gogirl:

Here it is ... skip over the first 15 or 20 seconds, as it's just credits. Gotta love The Dandys! (They play the club scene in Seattle and Portland frequently, for you Pacific Northwest JUBbers)

Okay, I'm not afraid to let my "child of the 1970's" show through....

I always have loved Karen Carpenter singing "Merry Christmas Darling."

It's not the holidays for me unless I hear that song on the radio at least once each year...

Natalie Cole with David Foster - Grown Up Christmas List

Carpenters - Little Altar Boy

Doris Day - Christmas Present

I have two.

I'll be Home for Christmas

Silver Bells

They're beautiful, one is so urban, and basically neither is religious.

It's the most wonderful time of the year // Andy Williams

Christmas Time // Aguilera

Let It Snow Let It Snow

Christmas Wrapping

Jingle Bell Rock
// Bobby helms

The Christmas Song

Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) (YouTube up above)
I'll be Home For Christmas
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
All I Want for Christmas is You

And just to prove it's all in the version, though I've never cared for Santa Claus is Coming to Town, this year I'm in love with Diana Krall's version of that song.
