Your Most Romantic Gesture

I am very romantic so poems and flowers and stuff like that are pretty normal for me. The thing I most recently did was take my friend that I was madly in love with to the Grammy's and we stayed in a 5 star hotel. We came back from the Grammy's and there was rose petals all the way to the bed and then on the bed rose petals in the shape of a heart, candles, a poem and his favorite wine. All this happened to fall on Valentines Day.
 
As far as the most romantic thing anyone did for me...

It'll sound corny and weird, but here goes...

Me and my sweetie at the time were looking around a record (LP) collector's show at the local civic center, and I fell in love with a copy of The Beatles "White Album" that was pressed on numbered white vinyl (very rare) and included the original poster that was signed by John Lennon and George Harrison. (swoon)

Needless to say, the price was astronomical, (I don't even remember what it was, now...) But I looked at it lovingly, then walked away.

Fast forward two months later to my birthday, and there it is on our kitchen table, with the poster framed and matted hanging on the wall above it.

Propped up next to it was a card that read, "Here, There and Everywhere, I will Love You Always, Tim"

I broke down and cried in his arms right then and there.

Sadly, the man is long gone. But, I still have the album and poster. ;)

A guy who I was interested in (and is now my friend), told me that no one had ever given him flowers before. So, being the charmer that I am, I proceeded to not just buy him a bouquet, but I spent an evening folding origami lily flowers -- one for every color of the rainbow, plus a pink one. I attached them to pipe-cleaners, and made them into a bouquet. As I put the finishing touches on it, a small group of women who were walking by, were so excited at me carrying a bouquet of paper flowers that they took a few pictures of it (I actually don't have any picts of them myself) and asked me if it was for a girl and all that, but I wasn't in the mood for possibly making things awkward so I just nodded.

I arranged to meet him that night (though I wanted to give them to him during the day so he'd be able to see them better), and told him I had a surprise for him. When he arrived, with the bouquet behind my back, I told him to close his eyes. And when he opened them, well, voila! He kinda just smiled and gave me a hug, remarked that he'd never have to water these flowers and they'd never wilt and die on him. :-)

I've done lots of other romantic things, but that's one that I think is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.
 
I downloaded an entire season of Lost for a guy I love and waited for every single episode and burn everything into several discs that I starved for so that I can buy them. The entire thing took more than 12 hours and I slept around 3 -- 4 am? -- or I could have just lost consciousness.

I gave it to him and he looked at me. I waited for the kiss. He reached out... tapped my shoulder really hard and said "thx bro" and left for another class.
 
I wrote a poem.

As I wrote, that slumbering animal state parted and I awoke; emotions raw and unfettered, crystalized, naked, unashamed and true.

In one of those very rare moments I succeeded in capturing emotion in word and verse. To me, poetry is that attempt. Perhaps arrogant, perhaps nearly futile. But not that night.

I hand wrote it on expensive parchment paper and gave it away, just for him.

The relationship didn't last due to other unforeseen circumstances, but we remained friends. I don’t regret it.

I've never shared it with anybody else. I don't think I ever will.
 
Him- "Do these jeans make me look fat?"

Needless to say I'm single.
 
I told my bf that I had a suprise for him, but he had to wait till the evening for it.
He question me trying to get clues, but I kept him in suspense.
When we returned home from dinner, I went into the bedroom and set up the candles, massage oil in a warmer and a soft sheet on the bed that I had hidden earlier.
I called him saying I needed some help on something .... SUPRISE.
I undressed him and gave him a full body massage.
Once finished we took a warm shower then into bed.
I gently and lovingly played with his body and eventually made my way to his dick for some oral action, he was hard and really enjoying it, but so relaxed that while I doing it, I heard him start to snore ... he was so relaxed from the massage and shower that he fell asleep.
I just smiled and cuddled up next to him.

For me, I was going on a few dates with this guy who did plays. So on one night he invited me to go to one of his shows and as he was getting ready back stage I had one of the ushers deliver some flowers and a card that I wrote with a little drawing for my signature. After the play he looked at the drawing and asked if it was him and I told him no, it was me and he said "The cheeks are to big" That was pretty much it on the whole gesture. I'm currently uninterested in him.
 
I care for my friends a lot.

One friend was studying hard for our big test. We was at this study room, I went home early. I was buying this delicious cookies, it was 8pm and I thought of him in the room without food, so I bring the cookies to him and he was very surprised.

And I made ai jar of origami swans as a birthday present for my friend.

I made cookies for my friends for last Chinese new year.
 
I don't do romance. It comes off like a high school linebacker trying to write poetry for the head cheerleader. All attempts I have made to be romantic have resulted in "well, it was a nice thought" at best, and open ridicule at worst (and most common).

Now, I do nothing romantic. I'll simply ask or tell. "If there's anything you would like me to do - take you to a nice restaurant, buy you something nice, or work your ass over all night - just ask." No, they don't get to do at "he anticipated my every need!" heart flutter thing. But they also won't have to exchange the ugliest piece of jewelry they ever got, or explain to everybody in attendance that they really weren't in the moodfor a surprise party. Yes, both happened. :)

for our first anniversary I wanted to do something special for my now EX bf. I told him I was working on a surprise but wouldn't tell him what it was. I picked him up and we went for lunch at his favorite restaurant. I bought a bunch of candles of varying shapes and sizes and put them in my room and in the bathroom. I must have had 50 candles lit. lol I had a table set up in my bedroom with champagne and strawberries. I had 2 long stem red roses in a beautiful vase. I made a cd of love songs and had it playing softly in the background. We went for lunch and on our way to my place I txt my roommate and had him light the candles. Igor (ex bf) was really nervous for some reason. he just didn't know what to expect. We got to the house and I had to take his hand and lead him to the bedroom. I opened the door and he couldn't believe it. He was so excited. His expression was priceless. We drank champagne and fed each other strawberries. You can figure out the rest of what happened. We went to take a shower and I had another cd of love songs playing in the bathroom along with a bunch more candles. On the way back to his place we stopped for ice cream. I gave him 1 of the cd's with "our songs" on it. It was so much fun and was the most romantic thing I've ever done for anyone. Unfortunately he turned out to be a lying, cheating scum bag that didn't deserve any of it but at the time it was fun.

I don't do planned romantic gestures.
I am a spontaneous person, so I generally do something when I feel like it, which is generally when my partner doesn't expect it.
Generally are not big things, but I believe whatever I do is more appreciated because I am not a naturally romantic person.
 
He's presumably intelligent enough (and knows you enough) not to misconstrue this message, right?

YAY!!!!! There are romantic guys! My faith is restored. What great stories!!!!

I have a very dear friend who, when ever we go out, always places his hand on the small of my back to guide me through the crowd so we don't get separated. I've never mentioned it to him, and thus he always does it, but ever so gently. The best part is that we are strictly platonic.
