Why don’t Democrats play Yu Gi Oh?

Because there is no Russia card they can play.

Yeah, no 'Pubs here, none at all...

We get that you have an obsessive hate on for the Democrats without having any positive practical alternative at all, but this thread is just plain childish baiting.

It is like you saw a meme somewhere and thought...gee...this would be a good insult.

But what I would suggest is that if you listen to Warren and some of the others, they do have a lot in common with Yugi...trying to solve the Millenium puzzle.

While there is no conclusive proof of active conspiracy between Russia and members of the Trump Administration, as the Mueller Report made absolutely clear this was not just Russia doing what everyone does at election time to influence our vote... it was a pervasive, multifaceted and blatant attempt to take the US out of commission as a serious rival to the Russians internationally by tearing at our social fabric and causing us to lose faith and confidence in our institutions. The Trump hacks certainly knew they stood to benefit from Russian activity on their behalf and made no attempts to stop it... indeed, they welcomed it. Just no proof found substantially that it was a co-operative endeavor that would cause it to be raised to the level of criminal activity. So stop already minimizing Russian interference in our election process, whether by social media or attempting to get info into voter bases and even trying to see if they could hack into actual data bases and voting machine systems.... look at how they co-opted the NRA and activist conservative Republican politics with Maria Butina, who took orders from Moscow. NOT fake at all. Now it's true the US has often acted improperly too and we shouldn't be doing that at all(among which our support for repressive governments in Central America because of their official anti-communist ideology, overthrowing the legitimately elected prime minister Mossadegh in Iran and putting the Shah back in power)interfering in other governments.... but that doesn't excuse or minimize how pervasively Russia was trying to support Trump. He minimizes their blatant actions in the Ukraine, he attacks our NATO allies and always puts in good word for Putin... he stalls when he's in a position to impose harsher sanctions on Russian leadership... despite the very hawkish position on Russia held by most of the rest of senior leadership in the Administration, specifically National Security Advisor John Bolton, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Mike Pence( when he has time to stop eating out Trump's ass). Trump is their guy, whether he knows it or not(and who knows wtf is going on in that delusional head of his).

You start off as nothing happened and end with something happened. Do you work for MSNBC?

Lawrence O'Donnell has you covered.

It's not hate. It's not giving them a pass.

What's with you never calling them out on anything even when it hands things to republicans? You say you are against things the dems could have stopped or slowed, but instead of holding the dems feet to the fire you blame republicans for doing their jobs and getting what they can for their voters. That makes zero sense.

What makes zero sense is constantly trashing the Democrats (including those who haven't committed any egregious sins) at a time when American democratic institutions are being dismantled before your very eyes.

What makes even less sense is to have people saying NOTHING about the regime in control of the US...but constantly subjecting the opposition to some kind of bullshit purity test.

In 2026, I wrote that people should hold their noses and vote for Hillary no matter what, because Trump would take a wrecking ball to the world and that it isn't about the presidency...it was only about the judiciary. Since 2017, hundreds of ultra conservative judges have been appointed and the Supreme Court is positioned to deliver killshots on everything from voter and labour rights to a woman's right to choose and the overturn of Obergefell. All because some obsessive cry babies hid in their basements in 2016 because they couldn't grasp the necessity of strategic voting.

This time, I have to hope that American voters have smartened up and realized that the election of the president isn't about the one person in the Oval Office...it is about hundreds and thousands of appointments that could literally help turn the US into a far right, religious oligarchy...that this time around, everything from Obamacare/Medicare to Social Security and all other benefits are on the block. And that they see that the Senate is structurally unlikely to shift from being controlled by the GOP and that even a solid majority in the House can't move any legislation forward...so that if they sit home throwing a hissy because their favourite candidate isn't the Dem choice....or they literally throw away their vote with a third party candidate...Trump is easily going to emerge triumphant.

There are lots of good Dem candidates talking about progressive policies designed to protect and help all Americans and none of them deserve the knee jerk vitriol they are getting from those still butthurt about Bernie in 2016.

This is the moment. This is everyone's chance to get it right.

Not to just sit and throw their poop from their cages.

I have mentioned the highest document, the most important document, the highest law of the land, which tells your 'president' (and I use that word with the most extreme looseness available) how he must act and what he can and cannot do and he uses it to wipe his big fat ass and stuff his bank accounts (wherever they are in the world) with YOUR money. How much has it cost you to send him on his weekly golfing holidays?

You have yet to acknowledge it as far as I can see, which leads me to believe that YOUR Constitution means just as much to you as it does to the conman who makes P.T. Barnum look like a two-bit grifter.

The damned point is Russia was NOT a hoax, and the whole first part of the report details extensively what Russia was trying to accomplish. Whether there was direct collusion or conspiracy or not, Trump and his people KNEW Russia wanted him in, and did nothing to stop Russian activities on their behalf. Where EVER has Trump been anything but complimentary towards Putin?

I ALSO put in that we in the US haven't lived up to our ideals here and we have interfered in other nations' sovereignty at times as well. But here we have a media that can challenge our government, and shine a light to our failures as well as point to our successes... that doesn't happen in Russia, or any of the other autocratic regimes that Trump seems to love. What happened going into 2016 though was a pervasive, expansive effort by the Russian government to fuck around with our social media platforms and cause us to lose total faith in our main organizations and institutions... that was clearly NOT a hoax. And you and the others supposedly on the progressive left who take an all or nothing approach do the work of Russia and of Trump and his ilk by your total rejection of anyone not sufficiently pure enough for you and total denial of any malicious Russian intent. Whatever the failures of the Democratic mainstream leadership(and goodness knows I've not defended nor do I support the domination of policy of the corporate, mainstream wing of the party over a better, more progressive representation of ideas and policies)… but damned if I'm going to stay silent to those who'd rather another Trump term(and much more consolidation of the judiciary and gutting laws to protect workers, consumers, the environment, minorities, etc) than the chance to reverse our backwards, corrupt course and steer things towards making sure the US survives as a nation as we have known it... and have the opportunity to start the move to a nation that works for the benefit of all, and not just the powerful. If Trump is re-elected, we will not survive as a nation... the divisions and rage and bitterness between factions right and left will prove unable to be healed and resolved.

Then you'll end up voting for a third party candidate with no chance whatsoever of winning and re-electing Trump. We got W. and now Trump due to this reasoning. Please DON'T DO THAT. Whatever your disagreements with the Democratic Party, put them aside. Trump and his entire league of fascist enablers must GO.

Vote BLUE no matter WHO.

Y'all are arguing with the cray cray.

At least Howard Schultz has the good sense to decide not to run as an independent... another gabillionaire moderate Dem with no chance as a nominee but who could have been a spoiler, Michael Bloomberg, also a while ago took himself out of consideration for the Dem race(like it needed yet another white moderate) or an independent run as well. So hopefully we have it clearly Republican vs Democrat, with few choosing the wingnuts like Jill Stein that could get near enough to act as a spoiler. One on one, Trump vs just about ANY of our Democratic choices, should result in a win for the Democrat as it doesn't appear independents are as enamored with Trump this time. But I guarantee Trump will cry about the vote being stolen and blame vast numbers of illegals who actually AREN'T voting... but who cares with Trump, he'll say anything to troll and to instigate and get his crowd of deplorables riled up. But in the end, at that point not even his sycophantic Republican senators will stand for him, as they see a chance to reclaim their party for their own malevolent ends.

But there is a movement to push Donald Jr(well, couldn't be Eric... too stupid even compared to Donald Jr) as a major force in the party and as bad as he is he fits much more comfortably with the glib, uberconservative politics and flash of the hard right. Donald's too much of a loose cannon, to cuckoo to depend on. Donald Jr, bad as he is, looks much better on television, comes across more naturally a slimeball of a politician. So even when Trump goes, don't think what he's unleashed will be anything close to defeated... just pushed back and contained for the moment.
