I don't think so, sauerkraut is fermented and aged cabbage, not usually red. I'm probably only partially recalling a cooked red cabbage dish, sour tasting, and probably cooked with onions and sour cream and gravy as well as vinegar, and likely served with meat such as pork or veal.
