OK, I guess. I had to look it up to see what it was. It's apparently dried or smoked fish. I love smoked salmon. I was a bit mystified by the Supertramp lyrics in Breakfast in America:

Could we have kippers for breakfast
Mummy dear, Mummy dear?
They gotta have 'em in Texas
'Cause everyone's a millionaire

The only thing I can think of is the lyrics are supposed to represent the imagination of how a Brit kid sees things in the States, since Texas isn't especially known for eating fish, and we never talk about kippers over here. Must be a British term.
