It hit me until I was 13-14. I always thought I was straight up until that point. No hints, signs or anything to the contrary.
Three years of struggling with my sexuality later, I accepted it in August 2013, which eventually lead to me coming out on November 1st 2014.

The first time I ever really noticed I was gay was in 6th grade. At that point in time, all the boys were talking about which girl is hotter, and I just...wasn't interested in girls at all. I think I've told this story before, but when I discovered what speedos and bodybuilders were, THAT was when it finally happened. The whole thing just clicked for me, I liked other guys, and I didn't find anything wrong with that. Of course, this was 6th grade in a catholic elementary school....Not everyone was going to share the sentiment that there is nothing wrong with a boy liking other boys instead of girls.

Well, there were lots of signs that I was gay as a child. My music preferences were a dead giveaway; I liked female artists such as the Spice Girls, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, among others. Not to mention the fact that I played with Barbie dolls every time I could get my hands on them. Plus, I had a tantrum in a toy store once because I wanted a plastic tea set, and my grandmother said that it was not for boys. Well, long story short, I ended up leaving with that tea set, and the rest was history as they say.

If the question is, "When did you realize you might be gay, and what were the signs?"

Ninja108 pretty much sums up my experience.

I didn't really know until about 9 or ten. I started to just get this weird feeling when I saw older guys.... and then 9th grade hit it home for me when I realized I was staring more at the guys photos in the yearbook than the girls.

At about 11 or 12 I became really interested in when I'd enter adolescence. We had lots of books on sex, Kinsey included.
At some point I because fascinated by male armpit hair, watching closely to see if the neighborhood kids were developing any, so that was probably the first clue.

Then male genitalia, pubic hair and the rest.

You'd think the fetish for armpit hair would persist, but it hasn't. And though the nude male form is delightful to look at, I rarely find it sexually stimulating. More interested in people now. As I often say, "What would Helen Keller find attractive?"

The absolute dead giveaway was as a Freshmen in high school. 13 years old? English teacher had us watch Ziffarelli's _Romeo and Juliet_ and when it was over I realized I'd spent all my time watching Romeo...

I always noticed the men in the underwear ads. Didn't like the women. I liked playing with the girls more as a kid.

When my friends and I used to play pretend James Bond around the neighborhood, I was ALWAYS Natalya. In general I liked female characters more than male ones.

Also, I LOVED Britney Spears.

When I was about 6, I loved playing with my sister's Barbie's. Then I junior high, I started checking out what guys were packing in their gym shorts.

This thread has a way of making me remember things that I have not thought about in years,
One thing that might have been a clue that I was gay was that as a boy I had a fascination with my butt hole, I played with it a lot,
back in my pre teen days.
I guess I thought all guys did this.
