Is that a situation with an E.S.L. student? Because ,otherwise,I'm thinking if you struggle with basic reading, you probably have no business in college..

Two words: grade inflation.

You really ought to ask yourself why so many people who otherwise tend to go at each other's throats are down on your so hard. If you paid attention to our public behavior (what Jasun honored you by doing with yours), you'd know that we just don't gang on on people together; our views on things are too diverse.

Now, since you wanted to get back to the thread, how about answering the questions Jasun listed?

Jasun is not an honorable person. His posts are always dripping with disdain and anger. Hopefully one day he'll learn to stop personally insulting people he disagrees with. It's sad that you've resorted to defending someone like him.

The far-left ideologues over at the smear site DailyKos are upset that Ed Schultz sad "God bless the troops" in front of the tens of thousands at the rally. Shameful behavior. Perhaps they should find a new country to reside in that isn't overwhemingly populated with Christians.

Do you not understand how normal people interact with each other? First, you don't personally insult them and then expect them to pay attention to you. Second, I've answered every question that's been asked. Third, I'm not an "IT".

That link you provided shows how large the attendance was for the 10.2.10 rally in Washington DC, which you were trying to downplay earlier in this thread. Just look at the third picture.

I defend anyone worth defending, and that doesn't depend on any generalized slurs on someone's character. I suspect I know Jasun a heck of a lot better than you, especially given the times we've gone for each other's throats with a vengeance.

"Honorable"? Given your record here, of continuing to defend lies when called on them, casting aspersions on people's character rather than answering their actual questions, sounding like a cheap parrot that's been hanging out in a right-wing authoritarian propaganda-test room... well, I judge at this point that you've got a bit of growing before you approach having standing to judge how honorable someone is who comes with a long track record of sticking to his guns and apologizing when he's wrong.

At least he doesn't belong to a party which on the one hand defends my right to keep and bear arms and on the other welcomes and harbors those who make it so I'm well-advised to do so -- a party you seem to defend with blind regularity (or perhaps regular blindness).

Laika, that's something that makes me believe you worked in the office of a politician: you're awfully damned good at turning aside a question and making it into an opportunity to either talk about something you want to sound off on or to aggrandize yourself (especially at someone else's expense). That's what you did with my post: you flicked aside all the actual substance and addressed only issues that could point to you as both a victim and as more righteous.
That's been your recent record here, and Jockboy pinned it precisely.

Now, if you want to say I'm picking on you, well... go for it -- I am. Why? Because you've been blithely defending people and policies who proudly uphold hate and which would aim our country toward a deep morass of plutocratic corporate feudalism. Whether some of those policies happen to be pure libertarian right down the line in terms of theory, deriving unwaveringly from the basic fact of self-ownership is something I could care less about right now, because results have to matter, and right now the results of those would be ruin. You're like a guy looking at a wood stove, saying it needs more fuel, with no regard for the fact that the weight of additional wood would crack the iron, dump the coals on the floor, and burn down the whole house.

As long as you keep that up, and definitely as long as you keep playing politician instead of human being by deflecting, I'll keep picking on you -- partly in hopes that just maybe, as happened with a writing student I once had, you'll get pissed enough to buckle down and get it right.
