The anal sex thing is just another example that what is considered "gay" behavior, doesn't always reflect a gay orientation.

Some straight men are turned on by anal sex. While at the same time, many gay/bisexual men aren't.

Could you imagine if a gay man had to go up against a court and explain why he should be able to marry, and was asked what defined him and why he was gay?

Could you imagine if his answer was "I like dicks" or "I like things up my ass".

That would further drive the concept that homosexuality is defined by a behavior. They would call him a sex obsessed pervert and deny his rights.

I think a lot of the gay/bi men who say a man is gay or bi for engaging in certain behaviors aren't any different than the homophobics who'll call somebody a "cocksucker" as a gay insult. To the homophobic, being gay is all about sucking dicks and taking it in the ass...

That falsehood is proven right when a gay man insists a guy is gay because of some sexual behavior he took part in.

Amen! Why is it not okay to like certain sex acts, and not identify as gay? I think sexual orientation is more about who you form emotional love realtionships with than what sex acts you like.

It makes people mad because these "straight" guys have sexual experience with guys and it's never known publicly compared to how it is with people who are openly gay or bisexual or compared to women who are more open about being sexual with other women. And this is why people who hate gays can keep perpetuating lies about how small the number of men who have sex with men is. And this is why same sex attraction between men remains taboo/more stigmatized. And this is why gay bashings continue because gay bashers don't realize how many guys do have sex with guys. So I think people have the right to be bothered by this whole thing. But you are right--it's not good to be obsessed with anger over it because unfortunately there's nothing you can do.

i know some "str8" guys let other guys suck them off. Some also like other guys to anal them just to see how it feels.

The double standards make me sick.

If a guy said he slept with a hundred women, but for whatever reason, had sex with or experimented with men....that man is GAY. If a gay guy said he slept with hundreds of men, but had sex with a couple of girls...he's gay, it doesn't matter. Nobody will point a finger and say he is straight, but confused or in denial.



I believe there are MANY reasons why a straight man has an interest in sexual behavior with or between other men. Reasons that have nothing to do with their sexual identity...but naturally, gay/bisexual men want to dismiss them. As these reasons could be used as proof that orientation isn't inborn. For most, it is...for some, I believe it isn't. Availability, imprinting due to trauma of sexual abuse early in life, sexual addiction...fetishism. Those are some. Some just want male acceptance and "bond" with another man and this need gets sexualized in the realm of fantasy and could turn into reality.

All these "ex-gay" organizations take men that fit this profile and use them as "proof" that gays can be changed, but these men weren't gay from the beginning. Which is why a gay/bisexual identity was/is so ego dystonic for them and what lead them to such therapy. Certainly, a lot of those "ex-gays" ARE in fact gay, thus such organizations are doing them harm.

Those "ex-gay" groups fail by claiming that ALL gay men should be straight and that it isn't innate. For most it is, for others it is not.

To say a man is gay/bi because of such interest, is just as damaging as those therapists who told gays they had a mental disease back in the dark ages, as well as the ex-gay groups who are trying to "cure" innately gay/bisexual men.
