Also, the reason Mariah Carey isn't on the list might have something to do with it being compiled by talented musicians, not a bunch of stereotypical gay men.

People should take note, it isn't Rolling Stone that came up with this list. It was people in the industry, legends included.

Yeah I didnt mention it but the list was made out of artist's journalist's opinions...


I think somewhere u can see the ballots of each participant..

and I rememeber James blunt's ... coz he simply put himself first of the List ... I think it's funny

As we stated before the list was made out of some people opinions

and I think the reason why carey is ranked after aguilera is simply due to the fact that aguilera has earned some kind of respect lately (Grammy award with it's a mans mans world) while mariah was somewhat less popular than before ...


I mean the list is all about popularity mostly (with vocal abilities of course)


+ I think that aguilera is ranked 58 also coz if u look at singers from around 25 there's not a huge competition and I believe shes th youngest

I see a few names on the list where I'm like "If Amy Lee isn't on here, why are they?"



This one I'd have to disagree with. Every high-school in America has atleast 30 Carrie Underwoods. She's got a decent voice but her overall presence just lacks character or distinction. It almost feels like she's not connecting with the music she's recording, it feels like she's "trying."

I can see where you're coming from. I disagree, but I see what you mean. There are some songs that I feel when she sings live, she's not really feeling, but there are some, such as Jesus Take The Wheel, Just A Dream, to where she looks visibly in the zone with the feeling of the lyrics. Vocally, though, I don't agree that there are a lot out there like her. But, I could be wrong.

And JoJo. Where the FUCK is she? She's one of the greatest vocalist I have EVER heard in my LIFE. And she's got the attitude and the emotion, even though she doesn't write the lyrics. Despite her age and despite her being extremely underrated, why she's not included is beyond me.

but anyway the people ranked on that list are still great singers even if we miss some others... + it's always bout being objective or subjective i think everyone can see great singers as they want ... coz great singers can mean emotions for some, high notes for others, being a performer or writing lyrics and stuff
