2 Cellos - Welcome to the Jungle

^ This reminds me of the guy who was trying to identify a race horse: "I don't remember the mane, but the pace is familiar."

Kuli,
You mean I'm not the only one?!

Prince and Tom Petty I think I got. Maybe Steve Winwood, lol.

Just got back from the concert.

Had a great time. It didn't disappoint, although we agreed it seemed a little more 'canned' than it should have been. I'm thinking because this is the second to last stop on their North American Tour (they play Colorado Springs tomorrow night then head back to Croatia after that), 'The Boys' might be a little weary of touring by now.

I also think their agent booked them into the wrong venue. Concert was at the Buell Theater at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The Buell is a pretty big hall--it has just under 2900 seats--and I think is better suited to stage plays and musicals rather than something that might require something a tad more intimate. They seemed to be having trouble getting the audience fired up, but the layout of the Theater is such that except for the main floor, the audience is far away and elevated. The folks that paid $175-200 for Orchestra seating seemed to be having a great time, but those of us higher up (we were in the Mezzanine) could hear fine, but were occasionally blinded by the lighting effects.

We heard from the couple behind us that they'd seen tickets for sale on Craigslist near ours going for $300 or more each the night before, so we certainly got our $50 each worth. I would go again next time they play nearby, but maybe not at the Buell.

I'm thrilled to hear you guys had a great time!

Here they played The Riverside Theater which was built as a concert hall in 1928. It seats 2,460.

Even if you're in the back of the balcony, you're not really all that far from the stage. The theater is wider than it is deep, and the balcony is curved with box seats stepping down the sides to just above the stage.

The seats aren't all that wide, and leg space is about what you'd expect in "Coach" on a plane. Being in the audience brings to mind, "Packed in like sardines." I suppose the "appropriate" term would be "Intimate."

"The Boys" had the whole place Rockin'!

As I've mentioned before, had it not been for your "Heads Up", Yooper, I probably would have missed them. Thank You, Buddy! (group)

^ I could see it, but didn't watch it. I'm not (and never have been) a Beatles fan. As long as you enjoyed it, though.

Sorry you weren't a fan. This is allegedly the last "Public" appearance by the band - supposedly 47 years ago last 30 January.

^ Don't be sorry. Undoubtedly there will be other visitors to this thread who will appreciate their music and this performance.

I can't remember if this has been posted before, but Steven Sharp Nelson is, indeed, a one-man orchestra:

It is truly nice to see and hear audience appreciation in Japan now. Not all that long ago, they were not allowed to show any emotion at all other than, perhaps, polite applause at the end of a performance. Now, as it were, they can 'let their hair down'.

Thank You!, for that! I can't get enough of "Our" Boys! :wow: (!w!)

I finally found out their drummer is Dusan Kranjc. What a morsel!  :luv2:
