The location of the galaxy is towards the constellation Sagittarius, and this also aligns with the center of the galaxy.
As I said, I have been watching this for quite a while. There is a whole forum for 2012 Doomsday debate.... I am just trying to share some new info, since it's probably covered up in the mainstream media.

Although admittedly not a lot, I've done some reading on what is projected to happen when the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way eventually collide ... on the cosmic scale, something far greater than whatever it is that's the premise of this thread (which despite several readings, I still haven't quite figured out).
That event, monumentally greater in scale than the hogwash that's being presented here, apparently to drum up some kind of hysteria, isn't expected to have that much of an effect on the small scale (by 'small', here, solar systems are small) because of the vast distances things in space are from each other. Amongst the possibilities in the things I've looked at were discussions of the possible fate of our own solar system, and the infinitesimally small chance that it might be ejected from the galactic merger. Even if that were to happen, we likely wouldn't notice much if we were still here at that particular point in time, because local gravitational forces would hold the system together.
Was this written in some known language? If it was, might you possibly provide a clue as to what it was, so that those of us out here in the cheaper seats could translate it into the vernacular, if desired?

It is clear that on December 21, 2012, there will be a galactic alignment that will expose our solar system to debris from previous galactic collisions (although NOT with Andromeda). Floods and volcanic eruptions can't get caused by interstellar debris unless the stuff gets close enough to the earth to produce tides that would make the moon's effects look weak. Anything big enough to do that is going to be visible -- unless it's a black hole, in which case we have different problems.
