2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

The first series of the quarterfinals comes to close as the San Jose Sharks sweep the Vancouver Canucks out of the playoffs.

Die hard Rangers fan here, they put us fans thru the wringer every nite. The Caps will be hard to beat, but it can be done. The Islanders are playing an exciting brand of hockey this year, after many miserable seasons. Hard to root against them.

Let's go Rangers.....

Speaking of the Rangers... big game between them and the Capitals tonight. The other games tonight are Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings at St. Louis Blues, and Detroit Red Wings at Anaheim Ducks.

What game are you all most excited for? Personally, I am really looking forward to the Kings/Blues game.

The first series of the quarterfinals comes to close as the San Jose Sharks sweep the Vancouver Canucks out of the playoffs.

Couldn't happen to a better team.

I'm hoping my Bruins can push the series to 3-1 tonight although this should have been a sweep too.

Rangers have evened the series back up to 2-2 with an exciting 4-3 victory over the Caps last nite. Caps goalie, Holtby, was a little sloppy in his play helping the Rangers to a couple of goals. Looking forward to the rest of the series, seems pressure has been put back onto the Capitals. Bruins got a good win over the Leafs last nite, too.

A few more big games tonight (although isn't every playoff game a 'big game'?) as there is a possibility of two teams being eliminated. The Senators can eliminate the Canadiens and the Blackhawks can eliminate the Wild. The Islanders/Penguins are the only other game on tonight.

Well the Ottawa Senators officially eliminated the Montreal Canadiens tonight, winning game 5 by a score of 6-1.

The semi finals begin tonight. The Senators play the Penguins in Pittsburgh tonight and the Sharks are in Los Angeles to take on the Kings.

Rangers vs. Bruins and Red Wings vs. Blackhawks start tomorrow.

As my current avatar indicates, I'm a Blackhawks fan. They look very solid, but I don't want to get my hopes up. After all, they do play in Chicago!

The Eastern Conference Finals will see the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins play. In the West, Los Angeles moves on and awaits either Detroit or Chicago.

It should be a great game!
It was. Hawks prevailed in O.T. Too bad one of these teams had to lose. What's next? Blackhawks will face the L.A. Kings (from the frying pan into the fire?)

Not exactly. Hawks win in double overtime - 4 to 3. Bring on the Bruins! (two charter members of the NHL)

Speaking of Boston, I am shocked that they blew out the Penguins in four!

It's going to be an original six matchup.
Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins
With Blackhawks having home ice.

Go Bruins!

Some trivia I heard...

The last time any of the original six teams met in a Stanley Cup final against another original six was 1979.

And the Blackhawks and Bruins never played each other for the Cup.

I will be at Game 3 of the Stanley Cup with my brother. I had plunk down $500 for a seat for me. It will be well worth it. I guess half a grand is well worth the bonding that my bro and me can share for a night LMAO!

.
And so it begins.* Both teams appear to be superb. I cannot predict any outcomes now. At the risk of using a little sports hyperbole, the fact that both teams are charter members of the NHL, the series will be epic, no matter who wins.

Go Hawks! :=D:
