- The US is on its way to exceeding the 81,661 cases in China. Yesterday, the US reported 13,959 (up 25%) new cases which is higher than any other country, including Italy and Spain.
- Unemployment claims increased by 3.3 million people last week.
- In spite of all the bitching, Congress passed the stimulus bill overnight. The bill now goes to the House for a vote. Most House members are in their districts and at least 3 members have COVID-19, so the bill may have to pass "by unanimous consent" without an in-person vote.
- The US military is getting increasingly concerned about troops who live in close quarters. 280 service members have tested positive.
- 41 states, Puerto Rico and Guam have at least 1 death.
- Several state governors continue to refuse to impose state-wide stay at home orders. The governor of Mississippi has issued an order overriding local orders by mayors and city councils that imposed restrictions on public gatherings. Next door to Missisippi, in New Orleans they're running out of hospital beds.
