Deaths: 7,158 (up from 6,513 yesterday) - 645 people died yesterday

Cases reported in the US -4,661 cases (up from 3,774 yesterday), 85 deaths

The number of cases in Spain exceeded South Korea yesterday.

Global coronavirus cases in major countries:
  • Italy - 27,980 cases (up from 24,747 yesterday) - 2,158 deaths.
  • Iran - 14,991 cases (up from 13,938 yesterday) - 853 deaths

United States: now in 49 states and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the USVI
  • The US exceeded 1,000 cases on 11-March. Yesterday at this time, it was slightly below 4,000 cases. New cases yesterday - 887. Expect that the US will exceed 5,000 cases today.
  • New York (950 cases), Washington state (909 cases) and California (448 cases) are considered to be severely affected. Florida (154), New Jersey (178), Massachusetts (197) and Colorado (160) are expected to exceed the 200 case threshold in the next couple of days.
  • Washington state leads with 48 deaths - nearly 1/2 of the 85 total deaths.

¡Qué lástima!

Spain is in the point where the numbers are increasing so quickly that they can't be distributed quickly enough to the monitoring organizations. Spain will overtake Iran probably by tomorrow.

True. We know South Korea's numbers are pretty good. We know this because they tested a high number of their population - 3,692 tests per million people. Spain can't claim anything near that (the US is a joke by a comparison to either Spain or South Korea). Given what we know about mortality rates, Spain should be over 25,000 cases.

Don't be surprised if the US goes into the 5 figure range if they start implementing testing pretty quickly.

Several years ago a shooting supplies store (guns) moved to a storefront at the corner of the entrance to my neighborhood about 4 blocks from my house. I thought there goes the neighborhood. This morning about 11:00 AM I drove by it and there were 15-16 people standing in line outside their door. This is so unusual! Usually there are 2 cars in their parking lot if any at all. What is going on? Are people afraid of rioting and buying guns and ammunition in preparation? Yikes!
