I am absolutely getting one, as soon as humanly possible! LOL But then, I'm a gadget freak and I've been on an all Mac platform for a couple of years now. Simple, elegant, and intuitive... I've become a fanboy. :)

8GB for me!
Rogers hasn't said for sure if they will carry it and I understand nobody else's system is compatable. Do you know something I don't?

the prada is a great looking phone, but:
too bad it's over priced for what it does
didn't really come out so much before the iphone to make an impact
the logo is not discreet enough

the dolce & gabbana is just plain ostentatious.

i'd rather be a FB than a FV.
Keep an eye out. LG is planning on releasing the KS20 this year. It will be like the Prada, without the moniker. I think they'll be beefing up its features as well.

And it should be more moderately priced. My Prada phone set me back a grand when I bought it.

Call me stupid, but all I want out of a phone is the ability to make phone calls.

My current phone (which was free with the contract) has 57,000 features I never use. I don't even send text messages. So I really don't see the point in upgrading.

yeah.. if you dont' need the features.. don't.

Having a those features is great for someone such as myself who travels a lot for work, needs to stay connected and needs to be able to have access to the web and data all the time.

This really is going to make my life better.

I'd love to buy one (4GB), but I don't think I want to pay the monthly calling/data plans. I'm looking at $60 monthly w/o taxes.

And people say the iPhone is expensive.

I'm getting this one:

Forget the phone, I'd take one of you love. You look fantastic :=D:

it looks cool, but i wont be buying a phone for anywhere near that much. plus i don't have the only carrier it works with.

no i've not seen the video of it on their page for some reason i get a plug in thing failed to initialize.

Meh. I wouldnt like my phone to do all that crap. I just want a phone that acts like a phone. I wouldnt feel comfortable carrying a 600$ phone around either.

I won't get it now, but I may wait until Apple fixes all of the bugs that the phone will surely have, include a keyboard, removable battery, 3G data connection, GPS, TV out, a higher resolution camera, etc.

This made me change my mind about getting it. Thanks god I found this Forbes article.

These nine alternatives for an Iphone seem pretty cool

I am happy with my Pocket PC (loaded with music, videos, porn, pictures) for now.

You can tell an article is 99% FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt) when it has more questions than answers. In other words, by asking a question, it implies a problem, but doesn't actually go out on a limb and say it's a problem. FUD.

BTW, many of the "problems" it brings up simply aren't true.

For example, the screen is glass, unlike any other phone, so it's actually less resistant to scratches than a Treo or Crackberry.

Another example: the plans were announced today and start for as little as 60 bucks a month including unlimited data.

Another example: you replace the battery just like millions upon millions of iPod users do. Apple will replace it for a fee. The price you pay for a sleek package and unbeatable software.

Another example: battery life is better than most other advanced phones.

Another example: The article claims that the 2.5G network is too slow, but then goes on to say you don't want to use the WiFi??? Huh? Most people will view the 2.5G network as simply a backup for when you don't have WiFi available, which in most major cities isn't often. (Unfortunately, though, places like Panera ban JUB forums, but that would affect any WiFi device, not just an iPhone).

The iPhone is a great device for people who need an iPod, a PDA, and e-mail/web access constantly. Like me.

For people who don't need all that, obviously, the iPhone is severe overkill. It's not for everybody.

We will see sir. I am an IT guy and I just don't want to spend the money in something is not going to please my needs. I don't even have an Ipod and I don't want one (I don't need to take my whole music collection with me, a SD card full of my favorites at the time songs is ok) and this phone attracts me because of what you said above: "The iPhone is a great device for people who need an iPod, a PDA, and e-mail/web access constantly. Like me"

I know that the phone is a revolutionary device but I feel it a bit incomplete. My main concern is the battery problem to tell you the truth. I don't want to compare the iphone with an ipod because one will do more things with the iphone (email, internet, music, video, phonecalls) I carry extra batteries for my phone since I use it its important features of the time everywhere I go, therefore if I had an iphone, I would love to replace a dead battery not a failed battery.

I use WiFi on my phone, but for example there are times when I want to consult info in real time to give to my bf while being on a road trip.

Glass also scratches, not as bad as plastic though. For texting I use the little keyboard my phone has, so my phone screen, for being 3 years old, looks great.

I am not saying the phone is bad, I am just saying I may get it in the future, after seeing my friends testing it and/or testing it myself. I am not desperate about showing off a "unique product".

Oh, sure, it's cool, but that's not why I'm buying it. I almost bought a Treo a couple years ago, but it was too expensive and clunky. I also didn't buy an iPod until the iPod mini came out, because it was finally the right size and price for me. So I love technology, but I have a brain; I'm not a slave to fashion or technology.

The iPhone just hits the right spots for me. The activation fee is a ripoff and the fact that the phone price isn't subsidized isn't great, but I must admit the monthly plans are very reasonable. I was shocked at how reasonable they were.

In terms of keeping its charge: if you have a car stereo with an iPod adapter, it'll play your music and charge at the same time. So, with half an hour of commute to work or school, twice a day, (plus overnight) it'll always be charged and ready to go.

In terms of not needing an iPod and swapping songs out onto a memory card: Have you ever used SmartAlbums in iTunes? I never think about what goes on my iPod. iTunes automatically fills it with new stuff or stuff I haven't listened to recently, because of SmartAlbums. All I do is plug it in to charge it overnight, and it automatically removes the songs I listened to and replaces them with 3-star-or-higher songs that I haven't heard recently. It's awesome.

Hmm, I want an iPhone, but the more I think about it, I'm going to probalby keep my old Tmobile MDA pocket PC phone and pick up a Nokia 8801 as a secondary phone (The really baller chrome phone)
