On-Topic 5 Nations Condemn Israel's Settlement" Plan

Israel wants LAND not peace, if they have peace they lose the pretext for the occupation to gain more land. They want the land so bad they are willing to sacrifice a few Jews to suffer Hamas rockets as collateral damage. Thats how badly they want Palestinian land

At least Hitler was very transparent about his intentions, Israel is doing the same thing over a longer period and by more subtle means

i think they want to provoke palestinian action because they get to respond with hi tech weapons and achieve a higher kill rate

Precisely wh must Hamas sit back and watch while more and more of Palestinian land is stolen. They know Israel wants land and the only way they will backtrack is by making it clear that such encroachment wont be taken lying down

okay so now that no one is interested any more , what hasn't been addressed is the current issue which is , i believe , israels constant encroachment on palestinian land , new settlements where ever they feel like it .

But it's not palestinian land and never was.

When did it all become Israeli land?

When Israel was attacked without provocation, the six day war began. They captured much of the west bank and have held it ever since. It is theirs by right of conquest.

The Israeli occupied West Bank is not Israeli territory and is not recognised by the international community as Israeli territory.

Read this article, and inform your self: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Bank

Ok then I hope neighbor nations will attack them soon and take some of it back... if that's how you wanna play it.

These are modern times you dont conquer land by means of war, if that was the case China could just roughshod its way all over the disputed islands and bomb whoever stands in their way. We have the UN where these things are discussed but America and Israel only want to use UN when it suits them. UN makes Palestine an observer state and Israel responds by threatening to accelerate construction of settlements, that should tell you precisely where their true interests are i.e LAND

Nobody with any intelligence cares what the international community thinks.

You speak for your self and let the international community speak its mind knowing that it has more influence on Israel's choices, than do you. Or, does American aid for Israel not carry influence sufficient to restrain Israeli hawks?

Seriously Henry if your whole take on the matter is "right of conquest extinguishes the rights of anyone but the conqueror" don't even participate in these discussions. Seriously. Your whole position is might makes right, and whatever the stronger guy does is fine and the way it's going to be, so what's even the point discussing it?

Just stay out if your view is so simple and completely kills any point of discussion.

One of the strongest arguments Israel has in my opinion is that majority of it's people were born in it... majority of them are also Jewish.

The same goes for the Palestinians.

I think this weighs more than ancient history.

Thinking that there should be no Palestine or no Israel is in my opinion ridiculous extremism.

Sorry, but this revisionist history is not going to fly: Israel struck first in the Six Day War. They raided Syrian positions, and struck Egyptian airfields, before either of those countries had fired a shot.

Whether Israel was justified in doing so is a different question, but the fact is that they struck first that time.

Careful Kul. Pointing these kinds of things out when the "self defense" argument seems iffy is when it turns into cries of anti-semitism. ;)
