50 Most Loathsome People of 2008

I mean Fox News. Not Fox as a whole. Different management.

And I see you've learned false equivalence from them.

No, I was talking about Fox News as a whole NOT being so.
And yeah, while all of the other networks were bashing McCain and Palin and wiping Obama's ass for him, Fox News actually conducted fair interviews with EACH of the candidates. I've seen both sides praised, and both sides bashed.
So, y'all must be watching a different Fox News.
I've never seen any of the other networks get off of Obama long enough to mention anything else of "importance."

You do know that McCain and Palin's IQs together add up to less than Obama's, right?

That's an opinion. IQ doesn't necessarily equal great decisions, either.
My ex's IQ is above genius. He never acted like it, and he wasn't well spoken. But that boy was one of the most intelligent.

Ann Coulter is the most surprising omission from the list. I suspect it may have to do with her being eclipsed by the monumental right-wing stupidity of Sarah Palin; Coulter just wasn't all that significant in 2008.

that period of time when her jaw was wired shut cost her significant raging cunt time in the media, so she's probably somewhere in the "others receiving votes" category

See how easy that is?

Actually, I think that Dubya should be if anyone should...but that no one should. Therefore I favor a sentence of life without parole (LWOP) for Dubya.

Nah, death row -- and every three or four years let him hear rumors of release... and every five or six start the process of getting him ready for execution, but then abort.

Okay -- I have a cruel streak.

Trust me, though, being publicly pro-gay is enough provocation for some people, and if the attack isn't sensational and wasn't recorded, no one will broadcast anything about it.

Like the guy where my buddy worked who had every rib deliberately broken one afternoon break -- and his "provocation" was that his gaze lingered on a good-looking dude at lunch break.
And then my buddy got his tires slashed and his car keyed because he intervened so they wouldn't kill the guy.
And my truck parked in the woods and I came back to find "DIE FAG" written on it.
Or the gay college guy whose tires got deflated because he had a Human Rights Campaign sticker and a rainbow flag sticker on his truck (the tires weren't slashed; the valve stem cores were removed.
Or a gay kid in another town near here who went off to college, and got told "Come back and you die".
Or a gay high school kid who told someone he thought one of the guys on the logging crew he was part of was cute... and soon thereafter had a fatal "accident" in the woods.

There are lots of cases of violence against gays without provocation. Many are classified as "accidents" because local law enforcement either approves of the violence or doesn't want to "open a can of worms". Some are even -- as where my buddy lives now -- participated in or aided by law enforcement.

It gets frustrating to some of us when gays in areas where there's tolerance don't think there's any danger, that life is lovely, that the war is won. Here in redneck country, things like gay marriage aren't that big an issue because we're still interested in not being persecuted.

You know what I think is interesting? That some people insult me in comments to my posts, then demand that I defend my "stupid" statements.

Why on Earth would I be interested in having a PRIVATE goaround with someone who insults me? I prefer to have conversations with jackholes in the threads, thank you, where everyone else can see what jackholes they are.

Needless to say, I ignored him. I'm considering Ignoring him.

Larry Craig wasn't on that list!

What a shame.

He would be on the 2007 list, though.

You do know that McCain and Palin's IQs together add up to less than Obama's, right?

If you throw George W. Bush's I.Q. into the mix, the total probably exceeds Barack Obama's IQ. But just barely, LOL.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Portland's Mayor [Sam Adams] will come in around #22 in the next list. Rod Blagojevich (who governs me, but hopefully not for long now) will certainly be on the 2009 list as well, because his controversies have had somewhat more visibility in 2009 than they did in late 2008.
