I was 9 years old in 1966, and I know something that some Star Trek: TOS fans may not know:

Star Trek's Original Series was outshined by the incredible Saturday morning animated offerings from the major networks. And that SatAM popularity includes older teens and adults. The cartoons of 1966 alone stole the limelight from many weekly primetime television shows. The audience of the young, and the young of heart, had such offerings as "Space Ghost", "The Herculoids", "Super 6", "Mighty Heroes", and "The NEW Adventures of Superman", just to name a few.

I was a fan of "Buzz Conroy and Frankenstein Jr.", but there are many who remember "The Impossibles". Kirk, Spock and McCoy didn't stand a chance against Hanna-Barbera!

Can someone explain to me how THIS is even a Thing in 2025, or Any year actually?

Sorry, can't help you with that. I know the original Star Trek from the many reruns on TV, but I've never heard of The Impossibles before.

Yeah, it's a strange request - let me explain what's happening.

I'm receiving numerous reviews from 1st time TOS viewers who are impressed by Star Trek Season One from 1966. However, I clearly remember conversations with family, friends, classmates and teachers; all found Star Trek: TOS an OK show but nothing special when compared to the outstanding television broadcast lineup for the 1966-1967 season.

By the time Star Trek aired Thursday nights on NBC, it felt like the popular kid showing up After the party was over.

Television was fun, and I mean Every Night of the Week. I remember a TV show about a Super Pill that made strong men weak and weak men Super strong called, "Mr. Terrific".

Please forgive my rant - 60's television was waay more fun than I see being reflected by those too young to have "been there".

The pastor of our local church would often refer to television in his Sunday sermons . . . because it was Fun with a capital "F".
