You want to know what is more popular than ever but is based on totally obsolete technology?

cassette tape adapters.

nobody uses cassette tapes anymore, but so many people have cassette players in their cars that its just too easy to hook up anything with a headphone jack on it.

in fact, if you have a "more advanced" stereo in your car with just a CD player, you cant use your ipod in your car without a radio transmitter, which are 500% more expensive and less reliable.

of course, you can skip both of these if your car stereo has a 3.5 jack or ipod dock etc but only the newer vehicles and stereos have this feature.

<<<Still uses Scsi ports and Zip drives...Sometimes you cannot improve perfection..at least when it comes to music equipment.

I think they died when everyone started having an NES in their home :(

I never got the arcade appeal myself, though. we had one in my college town and my friends always loved to go, but it felt to me like I was just shelling out a ton of money to play an inferior game compared to what I could play in my living room (except pinball <3 though if I had a pinball machine in my living room, I'd probably die happy)

Nothing can replace playing Marvel Vs Capcom 2 at the arcade!

Thats precisely the reason they died. The home systems started to surpass what you could play at an arcade graphic wise.

To me, I couldnt wait to go to the arcade and play a fighting game such as Mortal Kombat against other players. They would be like "Oh, there's that guy that can do kick ass stuff with Scorpion" or other things. The cameraderie and friends you could make. That is dead now as its only reduced to online interaction.

My hordes of admirers and worshippers, plus my hotline to George W. Bush, presidency of the National Association of Evangelicals, and ... last but not least ... any semblance of public respect.

Yes ... let me introduce myself. I'm Pastor Ted. I'm back! And I'm NOT gay. ;)

Britney's career.
You don't know what you're talking about.

2009 has been one of the most successful years of her entire career. Brit still manages to go #1 with zero promotion, while everyone else promotes their assess off around the world to barley crack the top-ten. I challenge you to show me ANYONE who can still manage this ten years on into their career.

Britney is also officially the best-selling female artist of the decade & The Circus Tour became one of the highest grossing tours of not just 2009, but history.

Her perfume line is the most successful celebrity perfume in the world, having earned billions & still going strong - She's set to release a new fragrance this year.

Not to mention the Candie's endorsement deal she's landed - she's the only person they have ever resigned for a second consecutive year, their sales have sky-rocketed.

If anything, she's at the height of her career right now.

I believe B Dalton was bought by Borders around the same time as WaldenBooks.
