Or some nonsense like that.

As I have mentioned, I have been losing a shed load of weight for health reasons starting last July. And I have now beat the diabetes and even reduced my BP significantly.

Yesterday, I finally had to give in and shop for at least one pair of pants that would actually fit me instead of being all bunched up with a belt.

And suddenly, I was not only at the same waist size as I was 30 years ago, I have an actual defined waist. And it felt very good...like a tangible and visible reward finally for all the healthy eating and exercise through work around the farm.

I am still sad that all the pants I wore for a couple of months as I was getting thinner have to go back into storage before I get a chance to wear them out, because they are falling off me....but it was a bit of a kick to be back in the range of sizes where there is more selection available in the stores.

My goal for the summer is to get some skinny fit pants because my partner 'hates' the look.

Compared to 30 years ago, even 5 years ago, has your waist size stayed consistent? Or has good living and food been too good to you?

Congrats.

I used to have a 29" waist throughout my teens, for the last 6-7 years i've been 32"

Congratulations man, that is a great result .. go out and buy half a dozen pairs of those skinny pants and you 'rock 'em' :gogirl:

I'm the same at 26 as I was at 18

I weight goes up and down only slightly.
No big deal, just use the belt :)

At 16 I weighed 110 lbs. and wore a 26 inch waist. At 67 I am at 196 and wear a 34 inch waist. The difference is where my belt goes, I now have an overlap. Congrats on the weight loss!

I've been the same horrible size since high school trying to loose! Everytime I loose a little bit goes by and I'm at square one...AGAIN :(

Congratulations! That is not easy to do...

Congratulations. I wish I could loose weight. I had a 29 inch waist when I was 18 and then again in my early thirties, but recently I measured my waist at 41 inches. I still wear 36 inch waist pants, but they are below my waist and my belly hangs over them. I have worn 36 inch waist pants for quite a few years now, but, as I said, below my actual waist. A few weeks ago I found that I had gained another 3 pounds and I have been trying to loose it and have succeeded, but hope that isn't temporary.

Hi five girl!

I've been saying for months. Losing weight and getting healthy is the best feeling ever. Welcome to the club of people who beat diabetes! I swear we deserve a medal for beating something that most people think is unbeatable.

Keep it up rare. Now you need to start weight lifting to bring out the sexy muscle!

Well done. Did the same kind of thing myself, BP is normal now and I can wear the clothes we got married in 13 years ago and look good. It feels amazing doesn't it!

Congratulations! Losing weight is difficult. I lost 20 pounds about ten years ago and to my surprise, I have been able to keep it off. I was very happy last weekend when I found a pair of very expensive slacks in the closet, though I was scare to try them on, I did and they fit just fine. My partner is an amazing cook which makes it hard to not overeat. But life is good.

I don't want to brag...but a scarf that fit me when I was 18 will fit today.

And yes, congratulations on the weight loss!

I'm not sure about my sizes, but I do know I need bigger sizes than I did when 18. Although it's not a really dramatic change--I haven't gone from "Small" to "Extra Large."

Good for you.

I'm not sure what my accurate waist size is.Been dieting since Jan 1st and probably lost 28ish pounds.I fluctuate from 195-235. I'm tall so everyone always says I look too thin.

I kinda live in black and white striped Chef pants with elastic waist or shorts.

Same here, but I still think (and my weighing scales confirm) that I am a giganticly massively fat obesetroid piglet? :help:

Hoody...its just gas from all those veggies and beans. Let it go Hoody. Let it go. Don't forget to warn the other tenants first though. Maybe hand out fliers with a date and time. Don't forget if there is any dogs in the building, they will need comforting. :(

My waist size has been pretty consistent even with me altering what I eat and going to the gym more consistently. I would still like to lose some weight, I haven't been below 200lbs in years.

Congrats Rareboy!

I've always been overweight, even in High School. But now that I'm near retirement I'm trying to change my lifestyle to live longer. My diabetes was caught pretty quick and at the most I was diabetic for 6 months before it was caught. I've learned that on average a person has diabetes for 7 years before it is discovered...and the organ damage is already done and can not be repaired.

I too have been working on my weight. I was hoping to have lost 52 lbs in 52 weeks...but that goal date is in May. The way I'm going I'm not going to make it. But I did drop from a size 42 pant to a 36 ("slim fit regular"). I did get myself down into the normal blood-sugar range for 6 months. My diabetes med was cut in half and after 3 months that caused my blood-sugar to go up just barely into the pre-diabetes range. But I have a lot more weight to lose.

Congrats, Rareboy!

When my husband and I started our get-fit-and-healthy journey, I was about 40 pounds overweight and my waist size was 35. For comfort, I always wore pants waist size 36 with a belt. My husband on the other hand was underweight and his waist size was 28 or so. We promised each other to get better. So, I worked on leaning myself while he worked on gaining healthy weight. Somehow, we miraculously met in the middle. We now wear pants waist size 31. He used to wear shirt size small while mine was large. Now we wear shirt size medium. And since we are the same height... In other words, we now wear the same clothes. We literally have one wardrobe for clothes. Our shoesizes remain different, though. We are half an inch different in that.

I don't know how I missed this. I'm going to bump this to the top with a kiss. You've accomplished something very difficult. You've mastered yourself! good good good on you! My feelings don't count, but this makes me super happy.
