You are the one who is an annoying freak. You have a serious problem if you are so up in arms over a CD art cover. Adam has always said that he loves 70s's glam look, loves to dress-up and wear make-up, why is this a publicity stunt? He is who he is, and as an artist and he, just like everyone else, has the righ to protray himself in any light he likes. People like you must really not know what it's like to be themselves, since you believe he is just "pulling off a stunt." I bet that you think he looks/acts "too Gay" and that bothers you. Bigots always say; "it's okay to be gay as long as you don't be too gay."I don't find that cute or sweet, I think he's an annoying freak.
Oh hey... look how you want to look but don't expect me to jump up and down and say "OH GOOD!!! ANOTHER CROSS-DRESSING GAY POP STAR!!!!"
He should put out what he likes, of course. Sad that what he likes is to make a complete fool of himself for attention.

You ARE being silly. You are the one who is being so angry because a guy dares to wear makeup and look feminine in his album cover pic. If we were back in the 80's, this would be no big deal. Lots of male musicians, straight and gay, wore makeup and played with androgyny. It's a shame to know that it's a big deal now. It's OK if you just don't like the look of a picture, move on. These cover arts are supposed to be fun and fantasy - for entertainment and some silly people take it all way too seriouslyDon't be silly. You should act as gay as you are. But there comes a time when "being yourself" morphs into "going out of your way to be as big and loud as you can until you become annoying" and he's reached that before his career has already started.
You know those guys who really pour on the gay so thick that it becomes a self-parody? Well, he's doing it "For Your Entertainment."

Indeed, Aqua already brought the 80s back this year anyway....and at least all their band members are old enough to remember it and not have some lame ass 'omage' *coughhomagecough* to it.

Disliking it is one thing but it's a little extreme to be so angry about it.No, I'm kinda turned off that someone who claims to be so progressive and creative and boundary-pushing put out a cover that would have looked tacky back in the 80s.
I'm let down that the only gay musicians who can get a break are the ones crafted by the labels to be the laughing stocks of the general public. You think it's an accident that guys like Matt Alber or Eric Himan can't get a break? The general public only wants gay stars if they're freaks and clowns to laugh at. And Adam was willing to be that clown.
Oh well.

smiley after me.
How do you know that he ruined his own career?Geez, dude... if you think I'm angry, you're a little too sensitive.
I'm just laughing at how another silly queen has ruined his own career by taking himself too seriously and thinking that "outrageous" means "make a fool of yourself." You'd think he'd have learned at least THAT from Chris Crocker.
Well and I'm taking the piss out of him just like I do with Britney and Mariah because being a douchebag is fun.
It's why they named thesmiley after me.
Do YOU have one named after you for being so even-keel? hmm?![]()
What has he done that is 'annoying' ? He is wearing make-up and looking feminine in his CD cover art...SO WHAT. He would have had a kinder reception had he been molesting a child or pointing a gun at a puppy on that coverI don't think that is what Jasun ever implied. Lambert is relying upon an image to further his career, an image which is notorious for being annoying, campy and glamorous. Unfortunately for Adam, he only captured the 'annoying' aspect. He may sell well for a while, but it's predictable that he'll just fade away.
I think that people like you who are so offended by this cover have a serious problem.
Maybe it would be nice to have a gay celebrity who isn't a complete freak?
I mean really... He openly admits that he just does all of his lame-ass stunts for attention. He looks like a creepy clown, channels the most tacky images from a decade best forgotten and spends a lot less time entertaining than he does intentionally making a creepy spectacle of himself.
It might be cool to one day have a gay rock star who doesn't just race around screaming "LOOK AT ME IN MY FISHNETS!!! I'M SO RADICAL!!! AAARRRGGHHH!!!"
Worst! Cover! Ever!
One thing he's doing well is making people talk about him with the photoshoot in the magazine, talking about kissing girls, etc. He's definitely a media whore just like gaga.
I liked him and rooted him on AL until he did Ring of Fire. That ruined it for me because he butchered that song. It's fine to take a song and make it your own, but you have to trust the song and let it breathe without all the screaming and drama.
I agree with Simon's first assessment - great voice, but too Broadway. He is simply incapable of singing a song without screaming.
Kris Allen, on the other hand, was more low key, but showed a deftness with song choice and arrangement while not relying on flash. That's why I rooted for him and why I will buy his CD.
'People like me'? LoL. I am not offended by the cover. How is it offensive? It's not offensive. He is attempting to modernize a classic era in society - glam, silliness with a serious and edgy approach (hence the dark contrasts on the cover). It's lame, the two do not blend well. He's annoying because I don't like him, his singing or publicity stunts. My dislike for him has nothing to do with femininity or homophobia (I am a sexual minority for God's sake, that would be hypocritical).
The cover is bad. It's not even up for debate.
