Age and Age Groups

That is contradicting. Initially, you claimed that you consider middle-age to be 23-39 yrs. but now are stating that twenty-six isn't middle-aged. Why do you think that twenty-six is no longer young?

It seems contradicting, but isn't. I put middle aged as 23-39 because I don't believe 23/24 to be young anymore, but I don't believe them to be middle aged either. In these 3 groups, I would put them in the middle aged group, but in the context of sub-groups, they wouldn't be classed as middle aged anymore.

I don't think 26 is young anymore because of my age. I am scared of turning 20, let alone 25 so, 26 is just terrifyingly old. I think that everybody will have a different idea of what is old etc. based on their own age.

Damn it's going to be super hard when you turn 30 years old. The only thing that will probably be terrifying for you is that you will realize you are an adult already and no longer a teenager.

I realized this long ago. It saddened me deeply.

Also, I don't plan on living to 30. Live fast, die young. BRING IT ON

When I went out for some drinks on Saturday, a guy asked me how old I was. I said "how old do you think?" first mistake. 24. He said fucking 24!!!! Safe to say, I wasted my glass of wine. He needed a wash anyway ... bitch

Not sure if it's alcohol or wine that ages you fast. Also stress and depression ages you faster as well especially with the hair. But I can say that there are people who look young but their age says different. Some people just have really good genes!

I've had people tell me I look 37 years old when I'm clearly not. But if you let it bother you it only makes you age faster.

curiousunistudent, while you may feel you are getting older, turning 20 is not the end of the world. Part of your age is how you see yourself and how you feel. I think as you get older you will start to feel less worried about getting older.

I wasn't thrilled to be 25, but who cares if you're 25, 20, or how ever old you'll be? Anyone who is going to look down on you for it isn't worth your time.

Too, too funny!! Age doesn't mean anything, really.

Ironic that the older you get the younger that age bracket becomes/seems.

I swear gay guys are worse than women when it comes to the whole age thing. And, yes Virginia, you too will grow "old" some day...

I recognize a fourth bracket that I call "grown-up" but which might better be described as "prime." And where you fall in the categories tends to have more to do with your personality and how you look and feel rather than a specific age limit. For though I feel that I am at the beginning of my middle-age, I would consider other more vibrant and active men my age as prime.

But to be numerically arbitrary, I would consider 18-30 young, 30-50 prime, 50-65 middle age, and 65+ old.

I think Swellegant has it most elegantly here. Or is that eloquently?

Young: 35 and below

Middle Aged: 36-55

Old: 56 and up

That seems pretty reasonable to me. But age is just a number and all that cliched stuff! ^.^
