"Ain't no homos gonna make it to heaven"

Yeah, like these people know who goes to heaven and who doesn't.
Excuse me but have they ever been?
It's ironic how people who believe in a religion which preaches to love your next, among other stuff, can be so full of hate for an entire group of people.

The true irony is that Jesus warned that this would happen, but they don't even see it -- they're like the guy Jesus condemned, who went and prayed, "God, thank you that I'm not like those other men!"

I think it's the fact that, over the past few decades, their congregations have been dwindling. Members are abandoning the church in droves. They're getting desperate to show that they still have power over everyone. They haven't clued in to the fact that it's their own behaviour which is pushing everyone away. By the time they figure it out, it will be too late and they will have lost what little credibility they have left.

CNN sent a reporter to the church (conveniently not Anderson though; that would implicate him too much). Not surprisingly, everyone was too ashamed to speak to the reporter on camera. Impressive missionaries they are.

They're suffering a backlash..as they rightfully should.
There is NO way to spin what they are doing to that child as anything but hateful brainwashing.

hahahahah oh really!?

I bet they were ashamed indeed.

Funny, they can do so much hootin', hollerin', and praising the Lord for the kid singing a hateful song behind church doors...but when it's time to 'reveal' themselves out in the open, they chicken out.

hypocrites, cowards, and closet-bigots. :##:

Some people should show up in chicken outfits and ask to join, because they heard they'd fit right in.

I've not seen any study, but it's my guess that more than 95% of all Christian congregations in the U. S. have been led by pastors/ministers/priests who have given more than one ANTI-GAY sermon in the past six months.

With all the problems which have come up in recent decades, they're still harping on the same shit they were talking and yammering about forty years ago.

Still unbothered

The kid is way too young to understand any of this. But you can see he's happy to get so much attention.
I hope that he'll grow up to be smarter than his parents and understand that people don't fit neatly into one category..

It is Indiana. No one grows up smarter than their parents there.

Love how uncomfortable they are when it's time to account for their bigotry and hatred.

"Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah."

Yup. I could could actually feel the sincerity.

(By the way, nice house, wasn't it? So much for modesty and humility.)

I feel genuinly sorry for that child. The amount of brain washing going on there is, in my opinion, on the same level as abuse or neglect

Children get taken away from abusive and neglectful parents all the time, but this is a constitutional thing.

American culture is a very strange thing when you look at it from the outside. Here in the UK even our most conservative elected politicians would be considered left wing by the bible belt US.

It seems like Sundays are very special days for them hence wear nice clothes.

Its sad the exact institution that is supposed to teach not to hate, is teaching their children hatred. I agree that the children do not know what they are saying. They just know it made the adults happy to hear them say it. In my dealings with apostolic people, they are very self absorbed and almost seem "mentally ill" they speak in tongues and are intolerant of anything outside their church walls. Its just plain sad to see this. Chances are there is a closeted gay kid right in that church that had to hear this and will drive him into a deep depression of denial of himself.

In this case, I actually feel like those 4-year old boys are the victims here.

4-year old children don't understand what "homo", "heaven", or "gay" mean. 4-year old children believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus. Most children don't even completely understand what "death" means until they're about 7 to 8 years old.

4-year old children don't naturally hate anyone. They're taught to hate by other people.

In this case, those 4-year old boys are obviously regurgitating or repeating a "song" they were taught by their parents or someone at that church.

But this is where the seeds of hatred against gay people are planted. When those boys are older and in school, they'll probably think it's okay to bully other boys who appear like they may be gay. After all, to them, "homos" aren't going to "heaven" anyway, right??

Or if any of those boys do grow up and realize they are themselves gay, they will be filled to the brim with self-loathing and self-hatred.

Attempting to close a mind that has not yet had the opportunity to open is a terribly nefarious brand of child abuse, and it will always sadden me to see it.

But amidst the anti-gay and anti-religious sentiment here, I thank you, rareboy, for posting something positive.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. The blatant use of the double negative means the delightful little scamp is really singing that all gays go to heaven.

Looking forward to the day god shows his appreciation for that particular church (and pastor's big-ass home) by sending them a little tornado or two.
