Al Jazeera Buys Current TV

By the way Jack...and Chance....

It isn't 85% any more. It is probably way higher than that.

Don't panic.

Wasn't sure to start a new thread about this or just put it here. So here goes...

Does anyone know when Al Jazeera will be debuting their broadcasts here in America? Will they use relatively unknown American journalists or try to hire well known journalists here in America? Just curious if anyone had any insight on this matter.

I apologize if this has already been covered.

I don't think it was, and I'm not sure either. Interesting question, if anyone knows.

And Fox celebrated the re-election of George W Bush who was responsible for:

So what's the point here? That no news agency is without a slant or questionable instances of its impartiality? We've been saying that for 6 pages, welcome to the discussion.

There is no comparison between Iraq and Al Jazeera defending a child murderor. First of all we actually try hard not to have civilian casualities and to kill innocent people. As we see on this news station they love shedding Jewish blood.

Again if Fox even said half of the things they said you would be up their ass calling for them to be taken off the air. Also your moral equivalencies fail. Just because Fox is bad does not change the fact that Al Jazeera is bad as well.
Here's a sideline you won't hear reported on Fox News.

Rupert Murdoch, creator and primary stakeholder of the Fox News empire, also owns 20% of the Kuwaiti-based news network Al Risala, which is essentially a Muslim Brotherhood network in the middle east.

Al Risala is run by general director Tareq Al-Suwaidan, a popular “tele-Islamist” who rails against Jews and hosts a weekly “motivational” show – urging jihad against Israel (within 1948 borders), calling for a global Islamic caliphate, and other jihadist aims.

We all know that Rupert Murdoch is bad and we all know said Muslim brotherhood netword is bad. What needs to be said as well is that Al Jazeera is evil as well.

^ Oh Christ

This ground is already raked over.

As for the question about start-up dates, I don't think they've announced yet.

Maria, I'd respond but I know as long as there's even an oblique, indirect connection between anything and any Muslims-- you feel that it's evil and perpetrating an evil agenda. And I'm not here to dissuade you of that. But this is a private news market now, and there's no political or legal or economic reason to shut them out. That'd be my bottom line on it. If they get on the air perpetrating some kind of pro-Muslim anti-American sentiment they'll be treated just like Fox News except with the difference that nearly 0% rather than 50% of the country will be taking it seriously or tuning into it.

Al Jazeera was doing a report, they weren't defending a child murderer. Actually watch the f-king channel before making assumptions about it. And every time someone has taken a swing at Al Jazeera they have failed miserably to back up their case.

I tried to say that much earlier in the discussion. Apparently Christane Amanpour having an interview with the PM of Iran makes her a supporter and endorser of his ideas and beliefs and government.
