Re: Alanis Morissette: New album and tour INFO(200

I'm excited about that :)
I like what I've heard so far (the clips on alanis.com, underneath, incomplete...)
and I hope it's better than her last album (I hated the production of SCC)

Re: Alanis Morissette: New album and tour INFO(200

I really like the first single. Musically, it reminds me of Jagged Little Pill--just not as angry :)

Re: Alanis Morissette: New album and tour INFO(200

'Not as We' is a nice track. I haven't enjoyed any of her albums with exception to Jagged Little Pill.

Did she finally ditch that thing she does with her arm in concert?

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

Argh! It's on iTunes UK but you can't preview it til monday!

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

I've heard the entire album plus the bonus songs and like it so far. Alanis is by far my favourite artist. THere's a couple songs that I took an intial loving to (Bring on the Tequila will be the summer of 2008 song for me). Love Straitjacket, In Praise of Vulnerable Men, Torch.

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

Straitjacket is an incredible track. It's currently on repeat for me.

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

Alanis' new album is really amazing! Though it is still not as good as "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie"...:)

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

If things go like I'm expecting them to go, "Flavors of entanglement" could represent to Alanis' career the quality leap forward that "Ray of light" meant to Madonna's.

The first single, "Underneath", sounds great, but "Straitjacket" is simply outerworldly.

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

Giggling is great, as is Tapes... and Orchid :)

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

straitjacket is a wonderful song. the rest of the album is the reason why none of her albums have sold since jagged little pill.

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

I've had the album for a little over a week now, and I think it's fantastic!
Really have been enjoying it; Good on her ..|!

Re: Alanis- Flavors of Entanglement

Alanis' new album, "Flavors of entanglement" exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I knew things were destined for greatness the minute I found out that Guy Sigsworth was involved in the production. I have been a long time fan of his work as producer, and once again he's proving his extraordinary talent, but this time joining forces with one of the most gifted female singer/songwriter around.

So far, "Jagged little pill" was my favorite album by Alanis. It was a surprisingly solid debut, in terms of music and lyrics, but I guess this time she pushed the envelope a little further than the rest by creating a record that shows a perfect balance between mature lyrics and exquisite music arrangements.

"Flavors of entanglement" is a non-stop parade of amazing tracks such as the opening rocker "Citizen of the Planet" or the dynamic "Versions of Violence" that blend in with softer numbers like "In Praise of the Vulnerable" and "Not As We". The single "Underneath" with its radio-friendly production and insightful lyrics is one of the strongest points along with the swirling "Straitjacket", one of Alanis' all time best songs.

Other worthy efforts are the complex and spellbinding "Moratorium" and that emotional ode to our own insecurities called "Tapes".

The "Deluxe Editon" features impressive 5 bonus tracks. The bitter, self-critical "The Guy Who Leaves" sizzles with tingly electronic beats and swirls amid Morissette's urgents vocals, while "Orchid" and "Madness" are both understated, poignant, positively beautiful ballads. Bittersweet coming-of-age tale "Limbo No More" has a profoundly moving orchestral arrangement, while the joyous, folksy "On the Tequila" is set to turn more than a few heads.

Thought-provoking, mature, varied and experimental. That's the only way to describe Alanis' brand new album. This will be a hard act to follow, for sure.

Re: Alanis Morissette Supporting the Gays! Go HER

she did that on a yahoo music set a few years back too. i love her. she only had the one cd that was big, but all of her cd's (except the earliest one) are really good.

Re: Alanis Morissette Supporting the Gays! Go HER

Oh i didnt see that one. yeah im pretty biased towards her too.... but what gets me is how some critics down her and say her lyrics dont make sense and basically saying she uses to many big words lol... so in essence they are calling themselves stupid bc i def understand her lyrics... maybe she just likes to use big words, but whats wrong with that... her song simple together is amazing! anyway lter
