Hell I agree, plus Susan Lucci is fine as HELL! Though this may sound foolish but I do not wish to grow old. I mean I have had alot of elderly people around me and they get so ugly when they get too old, many lose their mind and can't even control their bodily functions. I would never want to get this way, though I like polar bears as well I mean I love Patrick Stewart!

Its not that I can't believe Erica and Ryan could hook up--Ryan's all kinds of fine, and Erica is glorious at 62--but come on...this relationship is not gonna go anywhere. It would have been so much better if they had had her reunite with Adam. That I could get behind. Hell, if they really wanted to throw the viewers for a loop, they would have had Ryan end up in a ONS with Aidan's sexy ass. Now that would have been quality television.

Hell, the only reason I watch AMC anymore is for Annie. I love that chick. I'm always rooting for the villains.

FYI: Aidan's sexy ass began in underwear ads. The actor playing Aiden wore the Hom Fredy thong many years ago and did all their promotions with it on. He has a very hot ass.

I hope i'm not chasing men my age when I'm 60! There is a sad factor to that. I'm 36 now and not even interested in guys in their 20's. I feel that's all kinds of wrong. Maybe it is just me.

All My Children is not being cancelled. The studio is moving from New York to LA is all. A few actors will not make the move!!!!

I agree, daytime soaps are probably gonna die in the next 5 years. The ratings are just so awful right now, and the budgets are just getting lower and lower. It's looking very grim even for the number one soap- Y&R. The mighty are falling...and it's so dissapointing. As an ATWT junkie, I am totally deflated by all this. I'm gonna miss the crazy tales and hot tails!!

Back to the original message...I agree. It is unnerving. Anyone with a 30/40+ age difference between the lovers is a bit eerie. Coming from a 22 year old, naturally, I just don't get it. Above and beyond the physical aspect of the 'mashing,' the mental aspects of this sort of pairing is just difficult to fathom. Besides physical attraction, I can't see the appeal of a younger person to someone whose had as much life experience as someone whose in their late 60's and 70's. Just as much as I can't find what someone in their 20's or 30's would want in a relationship with someone old enough to be their parents (or grandparents) unless they were desperate for stability (or one hell of a fetish.)

To each their own, but I don't think it's fair to 'call someone out' for not being able to truly understand how this kindof a relationship works. I think some rights to such admissions should be allowed granted.

On another note, I have watched General Hospital since 1981 when I was just a kid, and I'm so close to being done with it. The best years was in the mid to late 80's, but since 1999, this soap has just dropped in my esteem. The letting go of so many veterans for new kids and the Mob storyline that has been ongoing for 15 years has just tired me out. I havent even cared if I miss a few episodes in a row for a few years now and sometimes I'll just watch Judge Judy instead

I think the OP just needs to admit that he misspoke. As has been pointed out, the actor playing Ryan is no teenager and the astonishing Ms Lucci is not exactly a nursing home resident. There is a long tradition in the soaps of May/December romances, believable or not. It's only television.

I really thought about it after I posted it and still grossed out. I did use to watch AMC and this felt incestuous to me also. Ryan was like a son to her. Once again Erica is a whore and an old whore with no morals at that. I'm tired of her fucking her way through pine valley. At her age it's embarrassing and childish. I'm not interested in her sex life. She shows no personal growth since the show began. I gave up AMC about 3 years ago I think. I had watched since the 70's. So I know this show. The writing is awful and how many Kendal murder mysteries can they do? How many people can the resurrect? This is why soaps will be dead in a few years. We have seen it all b4 ten fold. I will be sad to see it go though. Even though I don't watch my mom and my grandma did. I remember my grandma watching while she was dying and they had the Jenny Martian angel story-line. That was really dumb, lol. And Jesse was dead and an angel also and now he's back. Stupid.

Well you know, soap lots have their high and low moments. Writers have an awful lot of time to fill. I don't agree your characterization of "Erica" as just an "old whore" who can't possibly a sex life that is interesting (if not fantastical). She is a beloved and complex character who has risen to the occasion when called. She could use better storylines, but I think she can push the sexual envelope now and then. That's part of nature of the character. She's not quite ready to sit down in her mother's rocking chair.

I agree with you about that, too. I've been an All My Children watcher for 20 years this year, and a GH watcher for ten years. 1999, as a matter of fact. The Mob storyline was still there, but wasn't as heavy. Now its the whole show and the same storyline. Sonny gets the latest whore in town pregnant, she loses the baby, Sonny whines about it being the curse of being in the Mob. THEN WEAR A CONDOM YOU FUCKTARD! The dude's lost, like, what -- six children or something in the last decade? Judge Judy is definitely more entertaining -- watching her make fools out of those people.

All My Children is being written by the dude who wrote Melrose Place and Models Inc. so no wonder why it's turning trashy and incestuous. He also was co-writing General Hospital back when Georgie and Maxie were both having crushes on their cousin Lucas -- and when Skye and Ned became a couple after finding out they weren't cousins. I think this guy must have a cousin or aunt he'd like to fuck hard and compensates for it by writing all of these incestuous crushes.
