If the Jefferson being referred to is Thomas.........
Thomas Jefferson Feared an Aristocracy of Corporations
The author of the Declaration of Independence warned against the threat to democracy posed by big banks and big corporations. Too bad the Supreme Court does respect the original intent of the founders.

I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.

Yep. Jefferson held three great threats to liberty, and didn't name any as greater:
- government
- organized religion
- corporations and the "aristocracy of wealth"
He and Madison actually worked on an amendment which they wanted to add to the Bill of Rights, which would have forbidden monopolies, corporations spanning more than a single state, or any political activity. Corporations would have been limited to actions "for the common good", and nothing else.
We need that amendment brought up, dusted off, and passed.
