I liked most everybody last night except Joshua and Skylar. I loved Phillip Phillips who is just such a hunk and a great singer. Colton did a fine job, as did Deandre, Hollie and Elise and Jessica. I loved the trios, and I loved seeing Stevie Nicks as a mentor.

I have it bad for Colton and Philip I would not being the ice cream in the middle of that sandwich(!)(!)(!)(!) !

Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Melinda Doolittle, Adam Lambert, Crystal Bowersox, Haley Reinhart, and now Jessica Sanchez. Yes I'm ready to put her in the same category as those other chicks in terms of vocals and Idol Moments.

Jessica has completely avoided the Pia Toscano problem of being only a (boring) balladeer. Slowing down Beyonce's "Sweet Dreams" was the best and most thrilling thing to happen on the Idol stage all season. That was just stellar and together with her beautiful Billy Joel cover last week, she is now my favorite in this competition with Elise as runner-up.

Also, I'm so over Philip Phillips and the lazy artistry cred they give him every week for being one-note and dull. Jessica's interpretation of Sweet Dreams was way more artful than anything Philip has done all season, but she's not a dude so she won't get credit for anything beyond her voice and her fashion.

I'll give Philip Phillips credit for being 6000x more fuckable than Scotty McCreery and Lee Dewyze combined, but I've never downloaded any of his singles or re-watched any of his performances.

I wish this season had Haley. She would be SO far ahead of the rest of this group in terms of talent AND entertainment. The bitch faces when the judges were stupid to her <3 The smiling after Piabot got booted <3 Being so fashionable in her dresses designed by Tiffany Lamps, Inc. <3 Being so GIFable in general <3. If only. :(

I am an Elise Megafan at this point. Maybe even more than I was a Haley fan at this point last season. So much soul. She is here to remind people that there is sooooo much more to being a great singer than the glory note. I started the season as a Hollie fan but she has failed to WOW me so far.

I like this season overall much better than last. I really like all 4 girls left.

I would do Colton or Phillip in a second but don't want either anywhere near the title.

I've never been a huge Zeppelin fan. But Elise's performance last night did knock that song out of the park. Rock is definitely her element; too bad she is not in her element every week.

Phillip has been consistently great and in his element. I am putting my money on him. Although it would be nice to see it come down to him and Elise in the final two.

Colton is usually good. But I think his puppy-like cuteness is carrying him more than his singing is.

I'm so tired of Deandre. He should never have lasted this long.

So apparently Jessica could be voted out tonight* according to Dial Idol?? WTF??? How is she not one of the frontrunners?

Slip or someone else, please reassure me that Dial Idol has not been an accurate indicator for Idol for years now.

(*I realize if Jessica was voted off, they would definitely use the save on her so she won't be gone, but man that girl deserves way more than being in the same company as Matt Giraud, Michael Lynch and Casey Abrams, none of whom even made it to the F3.)

It is not anymore, Pepper. Text voting and online voting basically render it useless, and even before the show introduced those alternate voting methods, Idol had added many more phone lines than they had back in the days when Dial Idol was actually accurate with its predictions.

^^ Thanks. I needed that.

Oh look Nicki Minaj is on my screen. I love this crazy bitch.

It would be fucking hilarious if the voters finally got rid of one of these mediocre guys and the judges used the Save on him.

Heejun, you are safe! Watch.

EDIT: or not.

And after turning back into a boring balladbot last night, he will not be missed either.

Skylar is now my favorite by default, but this season sucks.

Heejun was actually my favorite. I will stick with Jessica, Colton and maybe even Hollie now.

Thank you. So glad Heejun is gone....not going to miss him even a little.

Kinda glad Hollie was in the bottom. She needs a wake up call. <3 her but she has shown no growth or surprises all season. Gotten to the point I am so bored with her that I don't even watch her performances...and this is from a guy who was stanning for her 4 weeks ago.

Can't stand Elise -- Crappy attitude

Agreed. Also is it fair for her to perform a song she had been "performing for years with her band" (not my words but Elise. She said this during the rehearsals with Stevie and Jimmy)

Joshua is so Jacob Lusk.

Yeah she had some moments in previous weeks where I was put off. However, she was so amazing the last couple weeks that I have forgiven her. Nothing she said or did was that bad really.

I mean...I was almost an Anti Fan until Vienna. At some point for me performance>all. Why I was a Katherine Mcphee fan too.

She has her problems but what you posted isn't one of them. You are REALLY reaching if that is your argument. If you really believe MANY of these constants don't do the exact same thing you are deluding yourself. Especially the older ones. She teaches at a rock school ............ should she sing NO rock songs ever?..... Because chances are she has performed the vast majority of the major ones before.

The idea that people should not perform any song they performed before the show is absurd really.

The contention is not that it was performed previously otherwise, they would only have a few songs to sing. You are REALLY reaching if that is your argument and deluding yourself. It is the fact that they have sung/performed it as professionals or in a professional setting eg with one's own band.

There have been many, many, MANY finalists over the years who were way worse than Elise when it comes to past professional experience. I mean, okay, she had her own band... that doesn't mean she was signed or was making a living off of it. Unlike say Carly Smithson, for example, who had a recording contract BEFORE she went on the show and even put out her own album in 2001 on a major label, even though it flopped. Actually pretty much everyone on the top 10 in her season had past experience in the industry except David Cook. And then next year Adam Lambert was friends with Lady fucking Gaga and she wore a cape with his name on it, even.

It sucks that Idol tries to tout these people as completely undiscovered talent but it hasn't been like that for years now. The Voice does it too.
