The best advice of the night was that which was given to Stefano. It was the first time he sang without that begging, whining thing he always did with his arms. What a relief that was.
 
I loved Haley, Stephano and Casey.

That they praised Lusk even as he stuttered into the song and remained, to my ear, off key all through it. I wonder if anyone listens to the whole song instead of the last note.

Lauren and Scotty will be safe. Didn't care for either. I didn't care all that much for Durbin except the drummers.
 
I wanna slap Lusk. He's such an annoying little queen. Trying to make excuses for why he sucked.

Stefano was a sexy little beast up there. I loved his dancing. But I hated his outfit.

Haley was the best of the night
Casey vocally was good, but WHAT was that weird robot walk he was doing?
Stefano was a little better than normal, but the vocals were a bit weak..but the performance was good
Lauren...was good...but she needs to do better...she was pimped so hard during the auditions but she has not shown any of it.
Jacob....blaaaaah
James...he ruined that Muse song...I usually don't have a huge problem with James...he's good at what he does...but this was BAD
Scotty...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz


I think everyone benefited from the contemporary songs...except Jacob and Scotty. Jacob chose a song by an older artist...and Scotty chose a song that was originally written/recorded in 1983...and sang it like that version, not the LeeAnn Rimes version.

If Scotty wins this whole thing, he will be the most BORING winner they've ever had. I mean Taylor Hicks and Lee Deeyze sucked, but they weren't as consistently dull and forgettable as Scotty. I can never even remember what song he did once the credits start rolling.

And I'm sorry but that otherwise sexy, masculine voice is undone by that ugly newt face. I can't believe he's getting the overwhelming teen girl vote and not Stefano who is so much sexier.
 
I think the teen girl vote is the only thing keeping Stefano around still, honestly. The girls in the audience are always squealing for him too.

Yeah but I'm talking about that massive block that gave the win to Kris Allen and lee DeWyze AND got the two Davids in the Final Two. Stefano is always in the Bottom Two or Three. Undoubtedly some teen girls are voting for him, but not in the numbers they have in the past for the boys who made them their panties wet.

And it really grosses me out that probably SCOTTY is doing that. If he has the teen girl and country vote, he'll be unstoppable for the win.
 
Stefano did really good I'd say. Loved the performace.
Hailey did well I liked her performance,
James was ok, didn't like it too much.
Casey was pretty good. I liked it, not usually a fan of his performances.
Lauren did well
Scotty same thing he always does.
Jacob was just ugh.. and then trying to make excuses why it wasn't good. I would prefer him to leave tomorrow.

This is how you perform that "Dance With My Father Again" on a singing competition show Jacob...

 
Jacob just looks like the kind of person I would enjoy throwing pies at. I'd say the same thing about Lauren Alaina, except she'd have too much fin eating the pies.

Wow...last night was downright awful.

The judges proved once again they are worthless on this show. On a night where it seemed almost all of the contestants were out for the VFTW backing, they loved nearly everyone who was terrible.

How Vote For the Worst can pick Casey, quite possibly the single post popular contestant with the judges, is beyond me.

I mean, Scotty and Lauren were clearly not picks this early on, and James actually does well sometimes which means he was out despite being the one who actually uses the stage.

That left Jacob, Casey, Stefano, and Haley.

I suppose they couldn't pick Haley, since she would be the hardest to keep on so they wouldn't be able to yell victory every week.

Stefano is just simply too boring and too bad to pick. At his best, he is still bad.

Leaving Casey and Jacob...which I guess now that I think of it are both loved on by the judges. Even though Jacob is a whiny queen that tried to blame someone else for messing the entire song up, they went with Casey. Casey, whom the judges are damn determined won't go home before the top 3 because they don't want to look like idiots.

Guess they don't realize it is too late for that.

Like Randy spouting off that critiques helps performers, but then he and the others never bother to use them except to confuse the hell out of Scotty. Week after week telling him to keep doing the same thing, suddenly now they tell him to mix it up and not play it safe.

I hope he remembers what happened when Pia listened to them.

Actually that would be hot to keep those suspenders on. I think it was more the pants. They fit him so awkwardly and made him look like he had no ass.

Usually, the judges' least favorite gets serious VFTW consideration... but this year, all of the judges pretty much love and are nice to everyone, so their opinions are moot. Casey becoming the pick wasn't a surprise at all to me. He's full of growling, crazy antics, sarcasm and he ignores the judges and Jimmy Iovine's advice. Let's look at the other contenders:

Haley and Jacob? Both were the other frontrunners in contention before last night. Both came out and were too boring for VFTW. If Haley did her hilarious growling rendition of "Bennie and the Jets" last night or something, she might be the pick now. Instead she played it straight.

Lauren? Hell no. Too pimped, too boring, probably the new chosen one by the producers since Pia was eliminated. James is pretty much the same.

Scotty and Stefano? Stefano has been too boring for VFTW throughout the entire season, and the only VFTW reasons to vote for him are because A) he gets the most hate from the audience and B) he got a DUI after being hit by a drunk driver. Both were the other contenders after seeing last night's performances (in fact, Scotty would have been the pick if Casey wasn't, based on their performances), but Casey beat them out.
 
I actually hated Haley's Rolling in the Deep. But I'm a huge Adele fan and I really think it's hard for anyone to pull her songs off. On the upside it launched Adele's song to #1 on numerous iTunes around the world, including America.

Show has totally jumped the shark. I can't wait for The X-Factor.

Ok...question for our resident Worster....why do Worsters call her Ceiling Fat (CF)? The "fat" part is, well, obvious...the "ceiling" part :confused: I don't participate there but check in every so often for a laugh and update.

Anyway...I think all the contestants basically suck and wouldn't consider spending a nickel on any of their music. They're all over praised imo. I do agree with VFTW choice to pick Casey even though he's a judges fav because he's bad and boldly entertaining at the same time...plus he doesn't seem to cave to the judges criticisms like the others do. The deciding factor in VFTW's pick of Casey seems like it was when he went and closely stared at and sang right in JLo's face...then kissed her. Ballsy! He even caused Tyler and Randy to get censored...totally VFTW worthiness. Plus...they love that he has poop/rectal issues...:badgrin:

You're right about Haley... way too boring this past episode, and she eliminated herself from their consideration because of it. She was one of their front runners too. (Her usual growls and "Bennie!!" :lol:) Stefano...does he sing the same song each week? Seems like it to me...he is just way too smarmy. One of those 2 are going home tonight.

LoL, yes she is. I still like her though, despite having 1,051 reasons not to. There's something about her that I find... oddly charming. I can't put my finger on it. (And if I could, it probably wouldn't smell right...)

My biggest problem with her is her stinky bitchface. She needs to work on that. When the camera is tight on her face she looks quite unpleasant.
