American Idol: Season 10

that was a waste of a save :nono:

it wasnt like he is normally amazing but he just had an off week, the guy is completely fucking shite and i hope he goes next week
Exactly, now let's hope James doesn't get voted off by those idiot tween girls or I'll have to stop watching.

I so co-sign this. I just didnt want to seem shallow. LOL. But when he goes I am def not watching this.

People keep saying how amazing the talent is. But no one blows me away. Even Pia has that big voice but she is so boring. She has no personality.

Yes, me too. A whole show of losers and one great looker.

I am glad they used the save on Casey, but his histronics were embarrassing. That said, the star quality is just bland.

Yes, I thought Naima finally pulled out a number she was good at but she still has problems staying in tune.

Lopez better get her some Stefano before M. Anthony steps in with a machete.

As I watch the show and get 1 or 2 singers in I have trouble remembering who is left. That's how memorable they are (not Stefano. I always know he has either come or gone or is coming.)

In honor of you, I will issue this silver lining:

The sentiment was appreciated. :)

Though, I think the judges screwed themselves over by the using the save so early, but not for Lauren's sake. I don't think they would have saved her. But since Pia's lack of personality is going to catch up to her eventually, and I think she's this season's Chosen One, the judges won't be able to save her when that time comes. Given her lack of Y chromosomes to entice the tweens/frau, she could be in trouble the first time she receives the death spot (i.e. the show opener).

Naturally, this makes my inner Worster giggle with delight.

^^ I think Pia is a safe bet for F2 so I'm not worried about that scenario. Whether she can win in the finals against a boy is another matter entirely.

Of course, I also thought Stefano wouldn't be in the Bottom Three for weeks, so what do I know?

wow....I just don't even know what show you guys are watching saying Naima is even NEAR the top of the pack...she's NOT good...this is a singing competition not an African Dance competition.

I'm glad they used the save on Casey...he didn't deserve to go home at all....sure "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was ALL sorts of horrible, but that's the only performance of his I haven't liked. Thia on the other hand has only had one performance I've liked (this weeks up temp...she should stick with stuff like that cause otherwise she is bland, boring and completely forgettable). Hayley is another one, I only liked this week....the slurring of words is a bit weird.

Scottie was DEFINITELY the worst of this week....what the FUCK is with him and being all sideways the whole time...he sings out of the side of his mouth he's constantly turned with his shoulder down...like I get he's trying to be like sexy and stuff...but dude...it's not working.

You don't think Naima is good, and you think Casey shouldn't have gone home.

Your pattern lines right up with so many others.

If Casey has had an off week, it has been EVERY week.

He's like Taylor Hicks, more or less. When Jennifer said what she did about Casey being unique, she was right. Taylor Hicks fell right off the radar because talent is the last thing that helped him win.

Naima is good, but like every single person to go through this process, she needs work.

The African dance incorporation was great. I'm sorry you missed her talent. I'm keeping a tally of each person I come across that has her talent flying right over their head.

Another tally I also keep those who love Casey. Good thing my ears aren't capable of moving and acting on their own. They'd being killing people for calling him good. Their musically trained senses turn to killer instinct sometimes.

One last tally is for Stefano, and how many people are either willing to pretend he is really good or just outright admit they don't care, they just want to see him.

omgz that group performance and stevie at the end <3

Well we agree to disagree...I think Casey is talented...and even though I didn't watch Taylor's season, I"ve seen/heard him before, and I don't really see the comparison. Sure their tones are similar, but Taylor was old and really only fit into one place, in terms of radio play, Taylor was only ever going to make it on Adult Contemporary radio (aka your local station that plays runs Delilah in the night time..haha). At least with Casey, he's still young(19) and he can meld his style to more of a AAA radio station with the likes of Ray LaMontagne and such. Does he need work...absolutely, was his reaction to the save over the top? yes. Do I think it was genuine, I flat out do think so.

Naima...she just hasn't done a damn thing for me...her audition I thought was very good, but I haven't really seen her do anything like that since. Umbrella was shaky and all over the place, if she could have nailed that I may have liked it more, though I was completely shocked that she named Rihanna as her musical hero....like huh? Her Tina Turner last week was bad. Nothing else, bad. And this week, I don't even remember the song she sang, just remember her dancing and the really out of place African drum at the beginning that sounded off.

and not that you said anything about her, but others have. Pia. She is incredibly beautiful, has a powerful voice yet can be a bit boring in her performances. BUT Michael Slezack over at TVLINE.com made a good point that unlike other pretty girl powerhouses that have come through the seasons, she's not coming off as like a diva/bitch that girls hate. She's really likable during her interview segments and she's shown a fun personality (the wrestling segment)...she's the pretty, talented girl that girls actually like, so I see her going a long way.

My 2 cents...we don't all have to have the same opinion, cause God knows we'll never agree with what actually happens cause America always finds a way to screw things up...lol.

Well, he's keeping tallies on you anyway. He must have some list. It's Naima's way or no way. ;~)

While we are being bitchy...i wish James had fixed his ears, you don't have to look like that these days.
Casey reaction was over the top and cut the beard.

James might pin the ears when he makes a few bucks but Dumbo didn't. [-X

As far as Casey is concerned just take a good look at him and you'll see the head and beard are the focal points. He looks like his body might be frail and we know he has health issues. He ain't no Paul Bunyon but he is musically gifted.

Naima can dance. (!)

Casey's in the hospital... AGAIN.

I think all of the bullshit with the save was intentional. TPTB probably wanted Casey on the tour but didn't want to chance having only nine people if he did have to drop out due to his health problems. Hence eleven people going out this year and the save being used at the top 11 to justify it.

Those bastards are totally pulling out all the stops to keep Casey now. Next week was supposed to be 80 songs, but all of a sudden they switched to Elton John songs. I wonder why? Casey is by far the most suited to sing Elton John songs. My poor little Stefano is screwed. I can't imagine a single Elton John song that would fit him. Of all the guys, he is the most out of his element.

I'm so upset. not just b/c it's likely Stefano will go but I love 80s songs. There's so much to choose from. I've never been a huge Elton fan. I prolly only like 4 of his songs.

If Stefano goes, I'm out this season. but I'm kinda looking forward to The Voice. I think it sounds cool. I love Cee-lo, Christina, and Adam Levine. I don't think X-factor is gonna be this huge hit that everyone thinks. I'm prolly in the minority, but I don't think Simon Cowell is the superstar that everyone else seems to think. I actually like Idol better this year w/o him.

Can't wait to hear Casey growl his way through "Your Song."

Thia of course will sing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight."

Yeah - me as well, the whole vibe on the show is better. Check out these comments from boss Simon Fuller. I think people are looking for more positive and motivational entertainment these days - that's not to say that Cowell didn't nail the reality vibe of the day in any number of past seasons, but ten years is a long time for the same formula.

Cowell himself said he thinks it's better too! ..|

I think the show is better this year overall, but I liked it better when they had the couple of vocal coaches helping the contestants to find their zones as artists, rather than the constant presence of the record producers trying to mold them in to what they think we'll like. So many people we liked on the show, only to produce sucky albums once the record execs get their hands on them.

The show is supposed to be about America voting, so I disagree with the save on that principle, but I understand why they have it there. I don't necessarily think it should have been used on Casey, but I also don't have a problem with it either. The end result though will be that two girls will go home next week - probably Naima and Haley.

As for the X-Factor - the UK version is an awesome show. It will be interesting to see if its as good here.

Some of you may not have seen the audition where James Durbin stated that he had both Tourette's syndrome and Asperger disorder. Thus it's no surprise that his reactions, etc., seem odd. Just as an example, I had a student with the disorder who told me his mother had to teach hw and when to cry. Durbin, like so many others, was teased as weird throughout his school years.

Not very happy they used the save for Casey.

Scared for Stefano this week, I feel he might be in trouble and I'll be very sad if he goes.

Pia's a good singer, probably my favorite after Stefano lol want her to stick around a while

I dont recall anyone saying anything about Durbin's reactions. I only said something about Casey Abrams being so dramatics and histrionics after he got the save. You may have got them confused. I already knew about Durbin's conditions. It still kinda surprises me b/c you really cant tell he has either. He must have mild cases of both.

I had to correct a friend of mine who was questioning on FB why James is always blinking and squinting....she didn't know either of the conditions he has, she must have missed it during the auditions.
