Chris and Blake were really good...but if true talent is going to be represented in the final 3,the boys go home by then...and Lakisha(don't be afraid to go all out next time),Jordin and Melinda will be left standing.Why did Haley have to get hot tonight....gets the guys with elevated testosterone vote tonight,and she is merely decent,not Carrie Underwood good with a superior group of African-American powerhouses to contend with.

I hope that if they remain great,America will vote them fairly into the final 3 and not see things as "too black".i want the best to win,and the guys aren't quite up to it this year.Chris and Blake are good and can carve strong careers already out of their exposure so far,but they aren't quite up to the best girls.Chris Sligh is good but somewhat annoying...certainly Phil has equal parts talent and irritability.Sanjaya,your fifteen minutes are now up,please....PLEASE!!! Gina is mediocre and Stephanie has a voice but no song choice sense.

You know they are going to think things are "too black"... They would rather have Chris R. and Blake or some other combination in the finale instead of two blacks or even just one black in the finale against a white counterpart.

I don't think we will ever see a black person in the finale ever again. Of course America can surprise me.

I DON'T BRING UP THE PAST ABOUT THERE BEING TWO BLACKS BEING CROWNED, THAT WAS 2003 AND 2004. Plus they were horrible.

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past the majority of the Idol voters to send someone like Melinda home early.

Remember all the past seasons watching some amazingly talened person sing and everyone was sure they would win but they got voted off??

Letoya London, Jennifer Hudson, Kimberly Locke, Tamyra Gray.........if Melinda gets sent home I honestly wouldn't be shocked.

Watching Blake tonight got me all hot and bothered. He was hot! My bottom 3 pick would be: Sanjaya, Gina & Phil, with Sanjaya getting the boot. Most of the performances were very good tonight. Good show.

HIghlights for me tonight were of course Ms. Doolittle, (I know the 'on a different level' comment is cliche by now, but she really is...)

And....Blake. I was wondering how he'd work that beatbox thing of his into
such an old song...but *damn* if he didn't do it...and looked sexy as hell at the same time.

I think the bottom three will be Phil, Stephanie and either Sanjaya or Gina. I think Phil or Stephanie will the be the one going home. Of course, Sanjaya should, but if not him, then I'd say Phil. Haley was actually decent tonight. Gina sounded okay when I first heard her but then at the end of the show when they played it back, sounded absolutely hideous.

Lakisha to be is slipping a bit and Jordin is picking up her slack. I still think it's a two-way battle between Melinda and Lakisha but Jordin is making a good deal of head-way.

I hadn't been really attracted to Blake until this episode and now I'm smitten. Everyone keeps talking about this nice plump ass of his. Any caps? I have yet to get a good look at it. Regardless, he's the best of the guys. At the moment, I'd rank it something like:

1. Melinda
2. Lakisha
3. Jordin
4. Blake
5. Chris S.
6. Chris R. (his nasally voice really bothers me)
7. Stephanie (really slipping)
8. Gina (very hit or miss)
9. Haley (slowly creeping up)
10. Phil
11. Sanjaya

That was the boringest episode so far this season and the judges loved it. The songs were so boring. I was actually pretty excited about this weeks theme the British Invasion but then I find out that it's boring songs from the 60's. The highlight of the show was when they kept showing that stupid little girl crying. That was funny!

Uh Melinda's performance was SO boring! Why pick a musical song anyways. One of my friends who came over and doesn't even watch the show stated how bad she was. I was expecting her to like it since she's into different kinds of soul music and so many people like Melinda but she didn't like her singing at all. Sanjaya flirting with Paula and Haley trying to be sexy was also weird.

I do agree with you. Because it was boring.. I actually couldn't believe the judges were praising these performances. The show was AWFUL IMO!!

Why do you pick on Melinda.. do you have a problem with black soul music? Or is this a honest critique? Other than that.. I do agree with you 100% about tonight.. just AWFUL

I didn't know a lot of the songs, but then again none of them made me cringe
and go running for the remote, either.

They all seemed more 'polished' this week...

Anyone know what the 'theme' is next week ?

bw92116, that is a fantastic collage of Sanjaya! Did you make that?

Surge, when we hear British Invasion we tend to think of Rock songs, at least I do. The show was heavy on Pop though (is that any surprise?). I liked it because I know the songs (having been out on my swingset when they were originally playing on the radio ).

But every time they do these show, I have to wonder whether its boring to young people and why they do it? I always found my parent's music boring for the most part.

That being said, it was really nice to hear fresh takes on some of the songs.

And wasn't Lulu cute?

I really like Blake's version of "Time of the seasons". I thought it was cool.

In regards to people saying that the little girl crying was cute...what the hell? I thought it was annoying as hell. She was crying for almost everyone. I think that Sanjaya will be through to the next round because only the top 10 go on tour this summer. So I am sure that the producers will want him because all the little girls love him.

Blake was awesome, Liked Chris as well, Melinda was probably the best last night, Sanjaya tried to change his voice? sounded more horse or like he was yelling it still sucked, but because of the crying fan that the camera kept showing Sanjaya will not be voted off again...

After a while of seeing the crying girl cry for everything,I felt like the scene in the movie "Airplane" where the housewife wouldn't get a grip and everyone,even the kindly nun,made a line to give her one upside the head.It was getting that annoying....does someone have a rational explanation for the nonstop waterworks?

Oh my god you guys....she was a little girl who probably loves the show & was definitely overwhelmed, maybe she had never met anyone on T.V, maybe it was her first trip to hollywood?
Who cares it was obvious she wasn't faking it...
does genuine emotion really need an explanation?

-at least someone cares about the show...personally i think its geared toward kids of that age and i thought she was special.
