Simon is obviously uncomfortable with anything remotely gay in a person. His comments to Sanjaya (who sets off my gaydar big time) really piss me off, telling him that the whole hula thing was strange (ie too feminine) and that his hair looks like Paula's.

I wish someone would call him on this. Actually what I wish is that we had an openly gay contestant. It would be fun to see Simon squirm.

I don't think it has anything to do with racism, but I do think it's bullcrap that when Antonella's racy photos were discovered, she could stay, but when it happened with Frenchie, she had to go.

Mikey44: If Hollywood had the choice between ratings and a beautiful winner, which way do you think they would go? Based on a lot of gameshows and reality TV, I'm betting that letting a regular or even ugly person win would take precedence over beauty...

I'll add my vote to this being more about one doing it for professional erotic photos versus someone whose private shots were leaked by someone looking to cash in on a young girl's popularity.

That said, however, I always suspected the real reason they booted Frenchie is because, IMO, they knew from the get-go she was the best singer and there would have been very little suspense or build-up as she blew them all away every week. When others were still trying to find their voices and styles in the auditions, she was knocking it out of the park.

I thought this weeks over-acting on the judges part was very telling as they addressed the men. None of the guys are even close to the talent of Lakisha and Melinda, but suddenly Randy is telling them they're really in it to win it, and even Simon backed off some of his scathing remarks. For all his "I'm tempted to tell 23 people to just go home" after Lakisha performed a few weeks ago, he knows that they have to stretch this shit for weeks and weeks.

That's what I think really did Frenchie in. Black? no. Fat? no. Sexy non-nude photos? Nah, not really. The obvious winner too early? That's my bet.

It has been stated many times that American Idol doesn't really care what you do in the past as long as you're forthcoming with the information during your registration process. So, if you've had a questionable past, i.e. criminal record, etc., just tell them about it so they can prepare for any backlash that may arise. Frenchie probably didn't tell them about the pictures and, if I'm not mistaken, was underage when they were taken or at least the pictures were intended to make her appear to be underage (there was something about being underage involved, but I forget what exactly), making it an illegal action.

Antonella, on the other hand, was of legal age when her pictures were taken and did nothing illegal in the process of taking them. They may be less than wholesome, but American Idol can't disqualify a contestant just because she happens to get slutty if there's a camera around. The pictures were not intended for public viewing, anyway. How many college-age girls have the exact same pictures posted all over their Facebooks and MySpace pages? Antonella didn't even do that...her pictures were leaked by others. She didn't do anything wrong.

Now, that's not to say that I don't hate her. She's a horrible singer and a royal bitch. It's just a little unfair to judge her so harshly and throw around racism claims based on this media frenzy.

Totally off-topic, but I think that LaKisha is totally overrated. I'm just not feeling her. Melinda is clearly the most talented. She performs like a veteran. However, is America ready for an idol with such a big head and short neck?

Sorry guys but Ms. Melinda tore up that stage into a million pieces, chewed it up and spit it right back out! She commanded that stage like a young Aretha, Gladys or Chaka. Oh wow she totally blew me away! Go Melinda!!!!

Even though I really don't like her singing, I think Simon was kinda harsh to Ms. McNudie Antonella B. His comments to her was like an equivalent of a bitch slap to the face; she had nothing but sharp daggers in her eyes for Simon it was so awkward to watch.

He was kinda mean to Haley too. "I'm sorry but I don't know your name." Ouch.

Anyway, Melinda, Lakisha & Sabrina are SO IN, of course, and Antonella and Haley are leaving. As far as the boys, Sunjaya is definitely leaving tonight.

But like it or not Antoileta has the VFTW vote that will put her in the Top 12 instead of someone who deserves to be there and yes sadly at this point in the competition they still have the numbers.

Did you see the look that Sabrina gave Haley? hahaha! I thought they were going to vote Haley off but it was Sabrina {{wrecked}} she was all about to be in tears then when they told her she was out she gave Haley the look of death! hahahaha!!!

Poor Sanjaya. When they voted Sundance off it made me crack up. I didn't like Sundance but how wrong was that! hahaha!

When it came between Sanjaya and Sundance, I was totally apathetic about it. Granted, Sanjaya is just BAD, but Sundance wasn't super stellar either.

At the least, Antonella is OUT!

Sanjaya's voice is very weak compared to any of the other current contestants imo.
The guys really have to step it up now or top 5 will be all female ( not that there's anything wrong with that).
One other note.... I got blasted last year for posting the winner of AI5 right after the show ended here on the east coast. So this year I'm waiting util the morning after to post anything so as not to spoil anything for the left coast.

I don't know how you can put Blake above Melinda on your prediction list.... And your prefer list is wayyyy out there. But I think you may be right with your prefer list.. Here is why.....

I do predict that "white america" will indeed vote for Blake for obvious reasons... He is white, somewhat attractive, and can sing just a little bit. Chris R. is the same way.. he is someone that "white america" can relate too as well. So I predict those two to probably be in the finale, if not the finale they will definitely be in the top 5.

Hopefully it doesn't turn out that way. But who knows.. America may surprise me, and actually crown Melinda or LaKisha as the Idol winner.

The top five will be Lakesha, Melinda, Jordin, Hairy Chris and Blake. Then blake will go. Then Jordin will go. Then Melinda will go (although she is my favorite by a mile) and Lakesha will take the crown this year.
