While I agree that this year's lineup was less than great, I still firmly believe that Lambert is going to be a bigger star than any other Idol alum, including Underwood.

And? That total is still lower than Sparks'.

Underwood's debut album sold 7 million copies. Comparing the two is laughable at best.

Doesn't change the fact Lambert is lame. The only chance in Hell he can beat Underwood or Clarkson (or even Daughtry) is if he joined Queen.

Even then, people won't be buying that album because of Lambert.

No one besides Kelly Clarkson has done much with their idol 'careers' anyway. Clarkson is the highest selling female recording artist of all time.

DeSneezy, or whatever his name his... I dunno, did he seem a little "fake" to you when he won ? Maybe it's me being dark and jaded and cynical, but it struck me as a little disingenuous.

It seemed a little fake to me the way he kept rambling on and on. It was almost like he was searching for the words to say something profound to express his "shock" and instead all he gave was a mediocre acting job. I think he wanted to come across as genuinely surprised and thankful but his lack of genuine shock resulted in him overacting. Hence the incessant rambling.

and if there's gonna be another season, can they please ban the use of instruments? people this season have been using it WAY too much as a crutch to hide behind (coughCaseycough)....go on America's Got Talent if you wanna play guitar and sing

One thing you guys have to remember is that not many people buy albums anymore. Probably 75% of people download songs for free. Also the past contestants have had way more time to build their careers and the number of people who watch American Idol has been declining every year by millions. Who cares about album sales, it doesn't make them more talented if they sell more. Just listen to who you like.
