I was annoyed they didn't show Tim going to the judges for his results but now I'm ecstatic because I knew I wanted to him to go through during hollywood rounds.

Ugh. If Casey James is this season's heartthrob, then Kris Allen's reign as Idol's #1 Cutie remains intact.

I'm just SO FUCKING GLAD that godawful, hateful, nasty-faced Mary Powers is gone! Oh my god, what a pile of crap she brought with her! Don't let the door hit you and send you absolutely straight to hell on the way out, Mary!

And just like with Gokey last year, the show's over-selling of Big Mike and that guy with a smooth voice who looks like a Beagle Boy, is already turning me against them.

Overall, I see more potential with this season's crop of talent than last season's. I really like Casey James, Andrew Garcia, Crystal Bowersox (hideous name!), Didi Benami and Jermaine Sellers. Katy Stevens, Aaron Kelly, Ashley Rodriguez and Lee Dwyze aren't bad either.

Mike Lynche and his editing have pissed me off. Theyre forcing his big ass down our throats and i dont see what is so spectacular. I especially wanted to kill someone when Hollywood auditions were being monopolized by his baby's delivery. This is not TLC!

Andrew Garcia is no gokey he has talent. I would buy his cover of straight up if it was on itunes.

The person I think least deserving of top 24 is the black girl country singer. She is terrible. It's like theyre keeping her in for the novelty of "OMG it's a black girl singing country!" I hate her lisp and her fucked up weave too. Idol has been horrible with black girl singer for quite a few seasons now. They never get soulful black girls with big voices. They seem to only get marginally talented ones that lean a little more towards pop.

That annoyed me too. I mean, he's an alright singer, but I wouldn't call him amazing. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. The only reason he's gotten so much attention is because of the baby drama, and even with that I just didn't care. Like you said, this isn't TLC.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Mike Lynche had been cut because his father let it leak that he made the Top 24, but for some reason it appears that he's still in. Lucky us...

Oh I agree. Andy sings beautifully and unlike Gokey, he doesn't go for the obvious/cheesy songs. I wasn't making a parallel between them in terms of talent; just a parallel in terms of the way the judges (and production) present them. Which I know isn't Garcia's fault at all, but I just wish this show would CALM THE FUCK DOWN sometimes, and let the audience decide who to like instead of telling us who to like. Because even when they actually are talented (like Adam Lambert) people don't like being told "They're talented! They're talented! You MUST find them talented!" and a backlash inevitably ensues.

This seems like a decent crop for the most part but I don't know what they were smoking when they cut Angela Martin and kept people who I can't even remember. Not only is she talented but they over-exploited her so much that she deserves to at the very least make it to voting.

I've read several places that idol is angling for a female winner this season and looking at the guys they chose I'd say that's true. The ones they are featuring Mike Lynch, Casey James, Todrick Hall, and Tyler Grady all annoy me for reasons I can't quite calculate and don't really care too. Most the others are completely unmemorable. The only one who is sticks out in a positive way is Andrew Garcia.

As for the ladies I have to say my favorite is probably Crystal Bowersox. She will not be winning this competition. But I enjoy hearing her perform. Haeley Vaughn both annoys me and spells her name stupidly. They're really getting behind her though so I imagine she'll make the cut and then be the clear weak link. Translation she's an upcoming votefortheworst darling.

Honestly teh whole set up is unfair. They have their finalist chosen. Just choose them. Don't pretend choosing them it's not fair to people like.... ummm that one asian kid and the other black girl... you know people I don't remember having heard sing even once. People who do not come in with a prebuilt fanbase from the Hollywood round. Stop letting these poor kids think they have a shot at their dream. They're toast. You know it. Just start with a damn final 10.

No idea on how Fox is going to announce this but I guess we all will have to wait and see...

Apparently his father breached the confidentiality clause so Mike got disqualified; but its still just a rumor.

oh gosh I love "Idolatry"....everyone should watch it this season if you don't already

there were a few where I was just like...why are these people in the Top 24...the blonde chick that made it through the first night...I don't even remember her name...Katelyn? yes Katelyn Epperly....she wasn't that great in the performances they showed...there were greater singers that they showed.

LOL! Yeah! I liked her voice fine, and her audition the first time we saw her, but after seeing more of her personality on the Hollywood shows, it was a pretty ugly one. Not even "immature", just...ugly. You'd think if you were being filmed constantly you'd want to put your best foot forward - even if you don't make it, who knows what other performing offers you might get. Obviously the Hollywood rounds are stressful and people cope with the stress and pressure in different ways, but her behavior wasn't even that slightly delightful/amusingkind of diva-dom thing, it was just obnoxious.
